Quick Q, Am i aloud orange side lights??

i think its illegal but I'm not 100% sure!

this is how i ran mine for a good few months i did however disconnect them for the mot just for less hassle but i never got pulled or anything all i did was drill 501 wedge bulbs and holders into the base of the indicator housing and wired it to the side lights

it was then alight like this and would flash alot brighter when the indicator was on

In all honesty I wouldn't risk it just in case but that's just me! Can't quite remember what the law states to be honest!

As for this, I agree they look good but I'd be scared someone would see me from the side, assume I was indicating (with a stuck on indicator) and pull out in front of me. Not something I'd want to happen!

Headlights/sidelights can be yellow or white. I drove a mango saxo with both for 3 years, and the polo had yellow headlamps for 2 years, changed to white as i couldnt get new bulbs and I've now gone back to yellow light.

soo why are Bmw's allowed to do it? there indicators are on when the lights are on.

thats what i thought but i didnt want to argue so i just put bright white led 1's in.

I got pulled for pressed plates and got warned for having bright white LED's as they apparently had blue tint.

Didnt get anything ddo as the copper had a blown front bulb and a bald tyre, so he got in a mood and shot off.

This was with the fly eyes film on and it doesnt work too well with yellow light and actually caused glare

As long as you have white side lights aswell as the orange ones then its fine. They are then classed as marker lights and not side lights, as a lot of volvos have them as standard.

^^ if they're connected to the sidelamp circuit, they're still classed as sidelamps, though

True, one of my mates had some in his mk2 golf. The police stopped him and said about orange side lights but he told them they were marker lights and they let him drive off after pointing out their volvo had them too :)

I've had them in mine for 8 months and ~25k and never had a problem. but, mine are separate to the sidelamp circuit, and only on when the engine is actually running.
