Nope only asked me to show my license and they checked the car!

just a reason to pull you over then :)

They can pull you over for any thing they want I guess, what did they say? If they suspect the car is un-roadworthy they can call out a vosa tester to give it a good going over and he will decide if its.roadworthy or not.

Police waste their time by pulling drivers over when the REAL CRIMINALS ARE ON THE STREETS.

are you young?

i used to get atleast once a week when i first got my licence, although i did used to drive like a dick

Ye, it happens quite often, easy excuse for stop n search I suppose. Modded car = definite drugs barron after all.

Yes they can but your car looks fine, police just looking for an excuse to pull you. As long as you can get to full lock with out fouling the body work there shouldnt be an issue.

If your silly (subframe scraping/lots of sparks/ripping up cats eyes) low then you can get done for criminal damage (Classed as damage to road surface)

Remember in the eyes of the public modding cars automatically makes you an unsavoury type or a drug dealer.

espeically when its a small capacity hatchback

Are you declared on your insurance?

I guess the answer to the original question is yes you can, because you've been pulled over :p

Seriously though, as others have said, it's just a routine check and they have to have a reason to pull you over. Once they've got you on the side of the road it gives them more time to check your paperwork, see if you stink of booze and make sure your car is legal.

Worth bearing in mind that while enthusiasts say if you ain't rubbin', you ain't dubbin', the police take a slightly different view. Tyre-arch contact means your car is unroadworthy and should fail an MOT, as it's dangerous. Car-tarmac contact is technically illegal too, but I'd hope they're a bit more lenient over speed bumps. My fiancee's standard Z4 rubs on almost all speed bumps.

Because the roads are in such good condition after all

this happend to me a while ago, i was driving thro a one way system slowly and went past a traffic car parked up watching the road, i get round the corner and see them speeding towards me in my mirror, he then said he pulled my because my car looks to low, when it is not at all, its a starlet gt on 60/60 springs and has loads of clearance. after finding nothing wrong he then tried to do me for driving under the influence of drugs, just because it smelt a bit like weed and he didnt find any weed and was clearly bored, that fell thro because of lack of everdence like i knew it would. he even told me that he had 4 people he had arrested in 7 days.

it is basicly a bull shit excuse to pull you over because they are bored. police are a waste of space they should solve some really crimes instead of bothering motorists all the time.

Point well made :lol::lol::lol:

i just got used to it, if you don't argue with them and your cars legal (mot tax and insured) then it only takes 10 minutes.

it's shit it used to happen all the time but then you realise that argueing with them makes it worse

it wont be criminal damage unless theres any intention to criminally damage !!

At end of day

Why would u have it so low you are constantly damaging the underneath! Even the jacking points ! Exhaust fittings and usage wear and tear doe it looking stupid.

And yes it's illegal u can get points for unroadworthy dangerous tampering with MOT pass
