How about actually buying a properly declared conversion or original GT/G40 instead of attempting to dodge the insurance, driving illegally and raising everyone else's premiums with your blind stupidity?

Because i already have one of those and insurance costs more than twice as much.

Why have you got to be rude, if you havnt got what i asked for dont comment.

Because what you are doing is illegal and when you crash you will be uninsured, and some poor sods insurance company will have to front the costs

Or they can sue you, Just buy a 1l for a few years to get some NCB

I assume you meant 'if you crash'

I've had a 1L before and soon sold it, i then bought and still have 6n 1.4 but i proffer the mk3's but not the extreme slugishness of the 1L. a GT cost £2000 more on insurance than my 1.4 6n!

Dont get me wrong i know where your coming from, guess i'll have to stick with my boring 6n for a bit.

Perhaps the best compromise for you would be a standard 1.3L Mk3 then (not a GT of G40). Insurance shouldn't be too different to a 1L and they're not terribly slow.

Whatever you do, don't break the law. Driving an uninsured (undeclared engine conversion means uninsured) car will net you 12pts when you get stopped and asked why your '1L' seems quite sprightly.

This is the stupidest thing i have ever read

Never thought this to be so easily found by the plod.

for example, one of my mates had a polo "1L" with a GT engine in undeclared and had a crash ( was crashed into not his fault ) writ his car off. He got his money and then done it again to another 1L polo and has had that for 4 years trouble free from police, insurance etc.

another example, a lad near me has a nova with a 2L C20XE in and has had that for 3 years undeclared also trouble free.

i will just stick with my 6n for now and wait like everyone else had to.

didnt mean for this to start a debate.

I think what's been said has been fair enough, and hopefully the points raised have been taken on board by the original poster.

To prevent this spilling over, into a debate, I'm nipping it in the bud.
