Genuine G40 Grey metallic, non sunroof.

K reg 190,250 miles on shell (to date - 12/12/2011) I am using it daily and do 250 miles mon-fri with work.

Engine:

Engine replaced for a fully standard 97k standard PY G40 (With Stamped Full Service History), fitted with a new continental contitech cambelt at time of fitting (11k ago) (to date - 12/12/2011)

Oil & Filter Changed at 4k, 8k (miles since engine swap) and due to be changed in the next month. Always used Synta 10w 40 fron VW

Due to fit Bosch W5DPO spark plugs - these are new and discontinued, but came in the original VW boxes, had these sitting on the shelf for years.

New Front Wheel Bearings. Top Mounts & Rear Wheel Bearing Fitted 3k ago (to date - 12/12/2011)

60mm Spax Springs on Front

Standard Suspension & Springs on Rear (60mm rear springs supplied)

Brakes:

239mm front discs with VWII calipers (Painted red)

Rear shoes replaced 2009.

Goodrich stainless Braided Lines throughout.

EBC Drilled/Grooved Discs

Greenstuff Pads

Wheels:

13 Inch Standard G40 BBS RA's with 195/45/13 Continental Contisports

Roof wrapped by DKnight in textured black vinyl

Niggly Bits:

Boot lock is stiff but opens from inside

Couple of rust spots, lil bit on drivers door bottom - pictured below , these are surface rust and very minor considering the cars milage

laquer peel on roof so vinyl wrapped

slight scratch on passenger quarter panel

Could do with a battery tray repair

MOT - Jan 2013 (Will be retested this month)

Tax - End of Jan 2012

just surface rust, battery tray would probably do with attention, but all round every window is fine, as the the sills and valances. the jacking points will pass the mot in january and would probably again in 2013, but could do with some love.

the only giveaway the shell has done 183k is the clocks! its a credit to jason (g-spot) who owned this g40 for around 6 years

Do not let the pics of the rust put you off. They are very honest pictures and are no worse than when i owned the car almost a year ago now. Didn't put me off buying this beauty one bit and would be easy to sort if you wanted.

Nice shell and an awesome car that got compliments everywhere it went. I miss it.

cant believe noones even come to view it yet, poor g! I'm still loving driving it, its an absolute pleasure with a standard exhaust and suspension on!

car was given an oil change the weekend, castrol gtx 15w40 semi synth and a genuine g40 oil filter!

will get pics up on the stamped up service history booklet tonight

Forgot to add that the car does just over 100 miles to 15 quid as I do two days to work without fillin up and its a 50 mile round trip!

Buy it and do a full oem resto! By the time you've got a couple of years ncb under your belt a standard mint g should fetch a fair bit more than as numbers dwindle. Plus its a good chance to own a bit of true vw history

No idea mate, I pay 700 odd 26 2 yrs ncb but a few claims recorded.

Now without alarm as yesterday the starter motor bit the dust and I was certain it was the immob. Hopefully it will be sprted bwfore I go on hols. Got a couple of spare starters to try
