Comments:

Since I've had the car I sorted out the surface rust on the rear arches and sills.

First thing I did was put the badge back on and started to retrim the interior:

On-Going

• Started a boot build. God i love fiberglass.
• Ordered K&N induction kit but they sent me a 6n2 1.4 16v not a AHF. Duuh. So sending it back this week.
• Manc:Union had a group buy of CB Radios, will be fitting that once i get my hands on it!
• Wrapped the wing mirrors in white to see if i liked the look of it. I do, therefore now i might go ahead and spray them instead.

Plans

• Need some shoes. I fancy some Ronal turbo's in white but budgeting is hard. Selfish friends all getting married and demanding drink fueled outings!
• 6n2 Boot lid spoiler - A bugger getting hold of these!
• I want some Spacers on the back too, not sure what to priorities though.

I think I just wanted to take the attention off the fact they are standard wheels, and also the theme of the car is Black, with white details and red as a third colour.

If I had to name one thing I knew others might not completely like I'd have said the red!

I'm 50/50....... I photoshopped the car to death with all options, white, red, black etc.. and the red callipers under white wheels WITH mark5 rears looked great when photo shopped. So I just need to get the rears to make them work better now really.

I'll surely lose the red as soon as I get better wheels!

Also I was thinking of a matt black paint job too, lol, but again I'm 50/50 and I damn well know there are plenty of matt paint haters out there!

Update: Currently have extra lights installed. Two small white LEDs rigged up to the interior light that brightens up the back seats at night. Comes in handy when you drop something behind the seat as the black pillars and headlining with tints makes it incredibly dark in the back!

Half way through spraying the door cards black with candy white handles and re-triming the fabric part in a nice floral black vinyl. Photos to come this weekend once completed!

Update:

Finally got my hands on some Mark 5 rear's. Rewired and fitted them. Little bit of filing/sanding to do to get them to sit flush yet though.

After getting tracking done i can now finally buy some new tyres without the fear of them balding! Needed some new ones badly. Due to current budget I opted for some Nexen's from Black Circle. Ordered on Friday, on my doorstep by Monday.

Got myself some new clearer indicators.

Bought a JOM mesh grill but i really don't know if i like it or not. Think i might buy a VW logo to weld on it.

don't need to weld it on mate, look at the one in kermit's build thread, that's just the top chrome part of standard Polo badge cable tied on! :)

Cheers :) I'm fully aware the tints and red callipers/drums are not to everyone's taste too so much appreciated!

In other news... I've got a LED message sign on the way to stick in so at night it should (i hope) be able to shine through the back window tint and display a friendly* message to fellow motorists.

*may not be the 100% truth.

Black interior, black tints and I've seen a lot of 'murdered' car's with red callipers. Hence the "slightly murdered" title.

I wasn't going for a murdered look, it's just a comment i had from a couple of people that i thought i would add.

The unique feature would be a standard 6n seat modded with massage and heated.

After a weekend camping in wales, went on an epic drive right across most of North Wales.

Thought i'd post up a piccy.

Damn sand dunes and slight ran in the morning caused the car to get dirty, fast! never mind!

Had my two front tyres replaced and they scuffed the wheels a little. So looks like they are in need of repainting.

Update

Received this in the post from Hong Kong yesterday after a good month wait

Removed the drivers side vent, and the remote slots in and holds there perfectly!

Here's a quick photo, I've a small video demo too but as I'm at work, I've no where to upload too!

All i need to do now is come up with some messages to display!

So decided that I don't like having a wire stretching from the cig lighter socket to the back window and wired in the LED message display to it's own power supply and got a illuminated red switch to activate it.

Then had a tow strap that I bought ages ago I finally bothered to fit.

Extra internal lighting is next on the agenda.

Prototype boot build (out of cardboard for now! haha)

To the left will be a triangular box for the sub, the amp will be sat in the wheel well with a slightly raised floor and perspex window.

And some fancy dash buttons to control cams
