bit confused with my headunit, needs a new harness but i dont now what to buy!? or where to buy one !

it needs to fit a kenwood headunit and a polo 6n 1995

anybody got any pics of theirs so i can get my head straight?!

any help is much appreciated !

you need a ISO to VW adapter, any motor factors or car audio place will have them or try ebay

thanks for that mate, but I've searched ebay audio shops on the internet and I'm still unsure is it just the harness i need or do you buy the 12v antena part aswell?

also the few i could find say mk4 polo 02-05 ??

this ^ may sound really dumb but I'm rubbish with electrics and trying to save money by doing it myself!

You could try Halfords. They lay these things out a bit better although they will be a tad more expensive sometimes.

The car will need an ISO to VW harness to connect the ISO stereo to your cars VW connections.

The car also has a DIN standard aerial connection. (looks like an old tv aerial connection) You need a DIN to ISO aerial adaptor for the aerial.

On that note, Halfords seems to think it's a "Harness Adaptor PC2-18-4"

Dont bother with the adapter, it only changes the red and yellow wires over, it annoys the hell out of me that they get away with selling them as the standards wiring looms that come with most stereos allow you to do this and by adding the extra harness it makes the stereo harder to fit!

Try it without the booster, it may work, if it doesnt, you can just connect it to the blue wire from the stereo harness. hope this helps (and saves you some moneys)

I'm aware this is cheaper but the guy said he hadn't a clue and wanted the easy option.

That wasnt a dig at you, that was me helping. Swapping 2 cables over isnt exactly rocket science :p

mate, dont worry about buying an iso adapter you dont need it all you need to do is swap the wires so they look like the picture I've posted so you have two wires with both red and yellow on

as long as your wires look like how someones tried to show on the pic ( not my picture, found it on google) all you will need is an aerial adapter about a fiver from halfords !
