This is how it started off

So i got it back to the unit as this was going to be a weekend project. Then started to take it apart...

Picked up a py lump in Feb 09

Engine needs a rebuild most parts have now been sourced.

Been making little progress as i don't get much time to work on the car. Bottom end has been stripped ready to be sent off, the gt/g40 rear axle has been rebuilt, cleaned up and painted a few bits, some of the sealant has been stripped from where the front wings sit due to abit of surface rust.

Next on list of things to do get it outside for a good clean and get the engine bay stitched up.

Slowly getting there brake lines have been removed drivers arch has been sprayed, leggs have been sprayed and a cheap 60/80 kit is being fitted for the moment so i can move it around. Still got to spray the other archs once the little bits of rust have been sorted.

Finally a little progress I've brought a friends charger off him as he was breaking his G40 due to melted piston.

We came to a price and my help breaking his car I've got some uprated engine mounts which he had made a few years ago, New harder rear beam bushes which was made from the same company that did the engine mounts, Steering damper, New leads, New Plugs, Sensors, Salzmann adjustable top mounts, fuel lines, G60 injectors, 65mm charger pulley, filter etc.

Also on the cards I'm looking to buy his gearbox with a quaife diff setup for track use.

Thanks to 10pin I've now got a 3f inlet manifold which i gave a little going over just need to get up to the unit to finish it off.

Gonna start getting my ass in gear and get the front end cut for the boost pipes, inter cooler and oil cooler.

The car will now be sitting on Gaz coil overs in a few weeks time they all need a good clean first.

Thinking of going for a full lighten and balance, honed, block decked.

Plan is to strengthen the chassis legs up abit. Clean up the gaz coil overs as they was second hand full sub frame and uprated drive shaft. Still lots of goodies for it to come. I did end up buy my friends ATV box with a Quaife diff.

Should be abit of a animal when finally get round to finishing it.

Cant wait till i get my garaged sorted so i can bring it home to rebuilding it back up.

Sub frame is a must. Yeah its going to be a weekend car/track toy.

Yeah these top mounts are fine for road use i think a few people run them. My mate who had his G40 ran these for a good 5000 and had no problems. i think they are a good up grade really as polo top mounts don't last long.

Sorry to sound like a vulture circling over but might be interested in the bodyshell if you decide to split the project for parts.

Problems at home could be moving out and i will loose my garage. Will see what happends. Going to look into storage for awhile till i get my self sorted. I would be looking for someone really to take the lot on as a project.

I will pop up a list of everything i have for the car if i do gone down the route of selling.

After a good think and kick up the ass I've got to get this finished.

My brother has a few of my engine parts getting painted up for me also going to give him the front wings to go over as they have a little paint damage on the arch lips from when the ats classics were fitted with soggy suspension.

The Plan

Get the car back

Weld / strengthen chassis

Paint engine bay

Order new front arm bushes

Order piston rings

Send block off to have balancing, skim and honing (might get them to rebuild it back together with my genuine parts if the price is not silly)

Fit fuel lines

Fit new brake lines

Mount small inter cooler / Boost hoses

Fit engine + loom etc

Setup timing

MOT / Tax

Should be fun over the next couple of months
