I'm going to take my rocker cover off at some point and check whether there's any difference. But as far as I can tell from this info and from the engine codes, this isn't a GT one AND it's the same as what I've already got hahaaa

Unfortunately it sounds like you've been another victim of someone selling a 1.3 cam as a GT cam. 
If you do find a GT cam, you'll need to bare in mind that you'll also need to fit an electric fuel pump too, as currently you have a mechanical fuel pump driven by the cam and a GT cam does not do this.

Yup I think so! having checked my cams, it is indeed exactly the same. The guy says he's happy to take it back off me though, so all good I guess. I know for next time to ask about the part number now.

I've already converted to an electric pump for my bike carbs so all good on that front. 🙂

I'm interested in what a g40 camshaft might do, though I suppose those are even harder to come by.

not suitable theyre for a boosted engine
