I've driven it about 200 miles already, with my dad in the passenger seat of course, its given me an incentive to pass as soon as possible :p but yes its a pretty big thing thats missing

Small update,

Got a centre console for the G on ebay for £12 and it arrived today, it came while i was in work so sorry for the dark pictures!

Will be fitting it tomorrow after work, oh, and i ordered my coilovers yesterday from Phill J, the front right suspension finally collapsed after sinking a little every day over the past few days ! i cant wait to fit them, also ordering some black diamond discs and some green stuff pads next week, can anyone recommend anything better for around the same money? Just in case I'm missing a trick!

Cheers guys! next update will be the coilover update!

Lovely car shame that you will have to pay the cost of the car each year for insurance plus a bit extra.

All taken care of dude!

Very nice car for a first car. Bet you can't wait to get that license and drive it on your own for the first time. :-D

Thanks alot dude :) yep it will be a good day! i cant wait any longer!

  • 2 weeks later...

looking good :) not sure i would have trusted myself with one of these as a first car, but would have been epic to have one at 17

Thats a smart G40 you got there dude, I like the door mirrors!

Alexm866 - Cheers dude! yeah trusting myself to not be idiot is a large factor, ill just have to keep it on the track when i eventually book a track day.

customautoworks- Thanks mate! I prefer them to the ones that came on the car, they'd had it anyway, i think they look a bit cleaner :)

And a small update - I'm still waiting for the coilovers from Phill J as he's having a problem with his supplier, which is no big deal as i cant drive it yet anyway! And i bought some Allycat Rallye specials that i collected yesterday, ill post some pics when I've given them a refurb and also yesterday i passed my theory so i can now move on to practice for the practical exam!

Cheers Folks!

Nice wheels dude, I take it you've got a staggered set?

  • Author

Cheers :) yeah 7's for the front and 8's for the rear! I waited for the Rallye specials cause i knew i wouldnt have to make irreversible changes to the bodywork to make silly mini offset wheels fit! Plus they are 4x100!

Just get plain brembo discs from GSF, black diamond stuff will be a waste of money.

I can highly recommend standard brembo discs and either their pads or some ferrodo DS pads, braided hoses and replace all the fluid with some dot 5.1. Might as well service the rear brakes too. Should be enough to stop you quickly then....

I have only heard bad things about green stuff pads :-(

Car is coming along nicely, will be good to see the wheels and coilovers fitted. Mirror look good, nice to see something a little different and work well :-)
