Just wondering how these black things come off? If they do?

I don't want to attack my car and then realise i've done it wrong lol

if you open the door, you'll see two screws on the side of the door, undo these and the handle should come off in your hands, these then slide from around the handle, you do not need to take the door card off! as my mate who did mine found out after he had already done so!

Ahh i see, are they stuck on or just held with the handle?

My dad was about to get a screw driver to try and pop them off, glad he didn't now lol

they are held in by the handle, that is held in by them screws. yea, you would have made a mess of the door :/

they are armour door plates, as to break into a mk2-3 you just smash a screw driver throught the outer door skin at that postition and your in basically. very 90s looking now but did their job back in the day.

update on fitting my door plates

or should i say not fitting lol

if the plates are on the lock will not unlock the door because the lock doesnt touch the plate instide the door

I had a set, could never get them to work so threw them in the bin

Passenger side would work but the drivers side lock wouldn't work properly.

Not really, only helping you.

take the rubber seal of the rear of the handle at the protector, and then push it into the door and tighten it up, should work and be sealed ok then.
