ide like to first off say that my lil breaddy passed its mot but has many advisorys

i know a few may be in the wrong topic so i appologise

what I'm basicly askin is what can i myself to to correct these adbvisorys?

Nearside Front Tie bar/rod rubber bush deteriorated but not resulting in excessive movement (2.4.G.3)

Offside Front Tie bar/rod rubber bush deteriorated but not resulting in excessive movement (2.4.G.3)

Offside Outer Front Front constant velocity joint gaiter deteriorated (2.5.C.1a)

Nearside Front Macpherson strut has slight movement at the upper attachment (2.5.A.1c)

Offside Front Macpherson strut has slight movement at the upper attachment (2.5.A.1c)

Parking brake lever has little reserve travel (3.1.6b)

Vehicle structure has slight corrosion (6.1.1)

Body has slight corrosion (6.1.3)

Windscreen has damage to an area less than a 10mm circle within zone 'A' (8.3.1a)

Windscreen has damage to an area less than a 40mm circle outside zone 'A' (8.3.1d)

Exhaust has a minor leak of exhaust gases (7.1.2a)

Any hints and tips would be execelent

Fix the bits outlined above?

get a magic tree air freshener and that should solve them problems..............

nar but serious like said above get them sorted !

if you are confiedent with a spanner have a go at doing it all yourself it doesnt seem that hard from what needs doing

only thing u would have to get someone else to do is your windscreen but if u feel confident do it yourself

its just half of whats writen i barley understand ha i just about know what a macpherson strut it all i kno is its were the tie rods, dampers and coil is on :L

tbh I'm just a lil stumped whatr half of em mean thats all if anyone could put them in "stupid" english lol that would be good HA

Vehicle structure has slight corrosion (6.1.1) Get it welded on the cheap

Body has slight corrosion (6.1.3) As above

Windscreen has damage to an area less than a 10mm circle within zone 'A' (8.3.1a) Got windscreen cover?

Windscreen has damage to an area less than a 40mm circle outside zone 'A' (8.3.1d) as above

Exhaust has a minor leak of exhaust gases (7.1.2a) Bit of paste?

Dont know why hes mentioned the movement in the struts as the sheet that comes out for the test states that they should only fail if movement is excessive and that due to the type of strut there will be some play.

6.1.1 and 1.3 are most likely surface rust.

i wouldent have thaught thay mean "track rod end" i would presume thay mean the rear arb bush in the arm. thay get all perrished and split so look bad but i garrentie if you left them thay wouldent fail next year just an advisory again up to you realy.

in fairness as said above thay all do have play, even if u had new top mounts would still get advised just the way thay are.

as said proberly surface rust. wire brush it down lick of paint?? depending on how bad it is and how botherd you are

in fairness the cv boots are problerly the only ones i would do as if greese comes out will knacker the cv joint. the rest are a bit of a muchness with a older car

proberly be worth askin the mot people to point out the things on your list to you so you know as some times can be worded badly and difficault to understand

i know where the 2 rust spots are and they are miniscule to be fair, no bigger than a thumbnail tbh and what spanner man provided and a few google searches i figured out what means what, its just the jargon i dont understand like the constant velocity joint gaiter to me thats :S but as spanerman put its a CV Gaiter and instantly i knew what it was, when i get my breaddy back I'm gonna have a gander at the advisorsys anyway and see what i can do myself which is quite alot of it really, but bits i cant do I'm gonna leave to ma mate whos qualified mech lol and the windscreen is peice of pi** tbh i got a scrappy like 2 mile from me who have 3 breaddys in there so worth a look and snatch lol (Y)

In respect to the tie rods; only one of them has a replaceable rod end (nearside i believe), the other one you need to replace the whole bar as it is not adjustable. And with the top mounts i suggest buying genuine as pattern ones tend to be made of chocolate.
