Driving Roads?

Featured Replies

i was on the googles looking around at driving roads in sussex and came across this stating the A286 is one of the best driving roads in the world. of course this is just an opinion.

but that got me thinking how many of you guys have brilliant roads on your doorstep?

by brilliant i mean nice twisty ones that you can enjoy, not "ah mate itz well mazing i hit 98 mph in my 1 litre brap!"

i like the B2133 and A281 running from Ashington,West Sussex to Guildford, Surrey. it has some nice scenery and some good stretches of windy bits if there isn't much traffic and intersect with another great road the A272 and go past Dunsfold aerodrome (top gear test track)

oh and one more for when i feel like a group B rally driver the Coombes Road running from the A27 at Shoreham airport to Steyning its very tight and has lots of blind bends but is lots of fun and a bit scary too

Yep, when I lived in Bramhall, it was a blast either in my xr4x4 or my gsxr600 best a night so you could see if the bends were clear then you could give it full beans!!

Come to Oxford, we have potholes

Lucky bastard having that on his doorstep. Super jealous.

And his house is/was fucking amazing hahah! You cant even see it from the road :o

Snake pass, win of a road also.

Few sick ones in wales also

Went on a piss up weekend last year in wales, we heard the roads where good so we diverted, f*ck me they where epic!

And in my 1st polo GT my brother had no chance in his bluemotion assrat

Beats hitting the motorway then getting to rhyl

B4407

i live in north wales so theres not many straight roads but theres one, a downhill run called nant y garth which is wicked fun but your fucked if you come off

^^^ Trawsfynydd to Ganllwyd pretty straight.

Nice bendy section from Minfordd to Traws then huge straight to Ganllwyd.

A478 from cross foxes is pretty good too, long straight followed by the Mountain pass at Corris then bends to Machynlleth then on to Bow Street

Used to drive them every week for 6/7 years.

I bought my Valver and i crossed the cat and fiddle on the way back in very thick fog at about 10pm. Needless to say, in a new unfamiliar car it was a great drive!

Still the most dangerous road in the UK i believe?

biker road

50mph average speed cameras have spoiled the stright line fun, but trying averaging 50mph on every corner is impossible, so you will probably end up a cows arse in the field.

90% of the roads near me are great fun as I'm in lincolnshire lol but best really is the a157

Louth to lincoln, straight with windy bits but no pot holes :)

I hate all windy roads though, because lows plus 8s and 9s equal crap handling lol

Am i the only one who prefers motorway driving thn :S i love just simple straight roads lol

Cat n fiddle, theres a massive stretch before the 2nd camera. theres a laybye just after the 1st camera... Pull over

We did that then went for it lol. Never got anything so i assume it worked haha. or we still didnt manage to average 50.

Also gives chance for the traffic to clear.

Sean, you must be pretty simple :ninja:

Motorway driving is boring to fuck. Unless in convoy lol

There are a few good roads in my end of the country.

A975 (Newburgh Road) - visit this one at least once a week.

B974 (Cairn O' Mount Road)

A939 (Lecht Road)

Those are my three personal favourites.

Thanks dickhead lol

i just prefer to do it

I'm with you on the motorway driving Sean, it's fun seeing an Aston or something go past, expecting to pass you... then you just keep level with him, playing :)
