Hi guys been a while since my last post. Just bought my self a nice little Cosmic green 6n and I'm looking to just give it a little TLC to get everything as they should be. My first hurdle is the boot lock. It unlocks fine with the central locking at the driver and passenger doors but i cannot fit the key in the back. Is it the sort of thing i can fix or do i need a new barrel?

On another note what is it that sits on top of the battery? It looks like a junction box? has live and earth wire going into it. I only need to know because it doesnt clip to the top of the battery. the clip is broken.

I had this problem a little while back with my MK3 bootlock, just after winter and all the horrendous snow.. it had tonnes of grit and salt in the lock.. can you get the key in ?? cos i could and just couldnt turn it.. however i took it down to my local locksmith or key cutter and they took it all apart and cleaned and polished it for me and it worked like a charm after.. wont cost much i believe. i didnt get charged due to knowing the guy...

i just sprayed a bit of wd40 into the lock and worked it a bit. works fine now. thanks for the reply though

I would advise you take it apart and clean it out. I had the same problem, fixed it for a little while but then went completely. Was full of grit and everything, took it apart and cleaned it out, works wonderfully now!
