Dream project cars?

Featured Replies

Little different from the normal 'dream car' threads

For those of you that love to restore/build cars from scratch and make them your own, what is your dream project car?

I'll start off with my dream, the one that got me into the car scene and has remained the 'one day...' project i still have to do.

The very minivan that i fell in love with at my 1st car show, wanted one ever since.

Then you add this....

Then one of these two

(just the one, obv haha)

I aim to get one once I've finished with the polo, but i know I'll end up with an old ford

my dream project has got to be making my own car,

i'd build something mid engined and vag based (obviously not the chassis, not unless modified to take the mid configuration)

Exactly like that, just stripped and rebuilt to as-new condition, a few things upgraded to make it fully reliable.. Decent tyres, maybe some KW's, bigger Brembo or AP brakes, more modern turbo.. Around 250bhp would be plenty, the car's so balanced and I wouldn't want to ruin it's originality with cages and bucket seats..

All I'd do is make it RHD, which can be done using an earlier model as a donor..

I can just imagine driving the B-roads across Wales or something in the summer for hours, that's my dream right there lol.

Gotta be a Buick Grand National for me, stick some dirty great Turbo on it, but keep the outside original and immaculate, same with the interior,

And also one of these, would be the ultimate restoration project

Id love a properly restored early '60s 1071S or 1275S. Preferably in Fiesta yellow with silver brocade interior and Austin spec, with a few custom touches.

But i dont know if id like to do the restoration, and it'd take a lottery win to pay for it.

If you can weld it wouldn't cost a great deal.

All panels are still made, in the original press'es. But they aren't cheap.

You can buy a brand new shell, Silly money though.
