heaters blowing cold after afh conversion

Featured Replies

car mk2 polo afh engine

right as said above done afh conversion everythings great apart form not hot air inside. It blew hot air before engine swap. water leval is up and bleed valve has been opend on the valve for the heaters, water doesnt come out at first rev an it does screwd back in should be no air in system but still no hot air fans oviously blow, the cable from inside to the valve moves freely and is conected both ends. I'm going to take of the heater matrix pipes tomoro an run a hose threw to see if its blocked but as i said it worked before so a lil confused.

pipes do get hot up to the matrix takes a while tho I'm wondering if i have the pipes in the wrong place cant remember of the top of my head but i presume i have put one before stat and one after as this makes sense to me to alow it to circulate altho stat surly would be redundent as it would bypas.. I'm not sure to be honest.

if anyone could help eg had this after the afh swap or knows where there pipes are on theres would be great :-D

Does it work with a pump or convection??

I'm guessing it could be a kink or something like that?

If it works on convection maybe the pipes are to low and/or matrix and its not circulating properly.

just things to consider.

Cheers,

sounds like an air lock to me. leave it idle on the drive and keep checking both hoses to matrix, one should get hotter before the other but eventually they should both be hot.

Cheers for the comments fixed now was 2 things... a air lock in the radiator as I used the bleed pipe? Small one that goes to top of the resavior. off the afh water housing an not of the rad like mk2 does jus needed to take out blank until water came out and refitted toped up water leval as it had droped an still not hot air so removed all three pipes of the thermostat housing started engine an seen wich one spits out water put that one to matrix and banged the others on to see what happend blows fine now warms up well quick aswell.

yay no more cold journys to work at 6 in the morn for me :-)

haha that is called problem solving :)
