what you need to do, is click start, then run (box will pop up) then in that box type "shutdown -s"

without the "'s :)

Seriously though...

To open Scheduled Tasks, click Start, click All Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click Scheduled Tasks.

Just remove it from there ;)

a checkdisk (chkdsk) may be scheduled to run on next restart, restart the PC and it should run before booting in to windows.

when it has run, run a defrag Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Defragmenter

let that run

Chkdsk won't be scheduled by windows (or seen in windows) as it does the chkdsk before windows boots.
