Stick a spare head in the boot Mark, then you'll have 16 valves ;)

Does it get better?

AEE on ITB's...

The one problem with the AEE is the head though :|

That would be totally Wank!

Feel the torque of the aee!

You don't even no what torque is !

I want an AEE!!! question: would an aee with gt cam and vernier pully be a match for a 1.8i 8v mk2 golf gti?

I have a polo gt and a golf gti the golf is, well obviously quicker but going by the above? or would 16v be a match?.

Mark where are them throttle bodies from and how much mate and are they sealed so they can be turboed do you know as I'm going one better than ben lol dont want him having the best 16v now

Hi, well its early days yet with the conversion, i still have a bit more tweaking to do first but yes i goes well. It runs a lot better now but i think it is underfuelling , it ran a 17.1 quarter at pod where the 16v conversions were running 16.2 , i did beat a mk2 16v golf that day but i dont think he was very good  . Mine is still running the aee cam btw and gt injectors. Cheers Mark

Wow its promising then considering i had a 5door 16v mk2 years ago i did 3 runs with consistent 16's at santapod. Didnt think an afh would get near a 16v let alone an aee! your times are good With the cam and injectors should be good. I think after christmas I'm gonna go down this route :-).

Have to pick your brains via pm if thats alright

Well i,ll bust a few myths now if you want, the conversion is relatively easy fitting wise , i used a Gt flywheel and clutch , if i had the money i would be tempted to put 200mm clutch in.

Gt gearbox is fitted , i may try another yet as Gt one is very short?

I used the aee thermostat housing and rear water pipe , everything else is GT apart from the top rad hose which is now another GT bottom hose, the aee thermostat housing had a blanked off port which i put the blue temp sender into , there is already a port for the temp guage sender which i swapped the GT one into.

My aee head again had a second oil pressure port blanked off , was already threaded for the second sender.

Exhaust wise i am using a GT manifold and unknown make decat pipe from my GT.

The trickiest part is the inlet manifold , i used a nz manifold but will be changing this to a gt one, i cut the mounting flange off , and had a new flange water jetted , and was tig welded back onto the nz manifold .

The aee block is a little taller than the Gt one so the engine breather to intake pipe too short this will need extending or run a catch Tank.

Think thats it, fire us a pm if you need anything else Cheers Mark

@ Max and Ben , unless i find a 16v cheap it aint happening  , i would love a highlift cam but unfortunately this will have too wait. Instead of buying swanky new cams e.t.c i sometimes have to be sensble and buy mundane items like winter tyres for Mrs Burt , she is a nurse and does home visits and as we are in a rural location i thought we would give them a whirl, ill let everyone know how we get on with them, Mark

Nice one

Think i read that the gt downpipe needs 2" sleeved on for the taller block but then you've used one that was on a shortblock?

I'm still running the downpipe you sold me but with the cat inners binned! I'm thinking ppp wheelwell "weld in plate" go centre exit with some decent exhaust hangers mmmm

Anyway i think the spi 1.3 runs a long ratio box same code as g40 or is that a different box altogether??

Is the 200mm clutch after market organic? btw theres a couple of mk2 golfs down the scrappy could possibly be 1.6's if they have metal manifolds does anyone know where the engine numbers are so i make sure i get the right one.

How much are you doing vernier pulleys for max?

I got all excited then thinking you had 13's planned and might of been selling the 14" steels :-(

I'm after 15" g6os if that helps?

Keep the 14s mate, they look wicked!

Think this should have a black bonnet too!
