Right!

I've heard all you need to do is adjust the linkage for 5 gears

I've also heard that you need everything selector etc

both my 4 and 5 speed selector and linkages etc were the same so my bet is just adjust it

as for arb 4 and 5 speed fit fine BUT the 4 speed arm fouls on the gearbox

you cleaniing up all the GT bits before its dropped in? paint block and box?

Finally a straight answer haha cheers mate, might just change the ARB anyway. Hoping to have it done by sunday fingers crossed.

I will be painting the block and rocker cover but only quickly as i need the car running again as soon as possible as i use it for work etc.

Defo worth changing the arb, just adjust the linkage :)

Cant wait to see how this turns out, hopefully plug and play and problem free

What was the problem mate?

Didnt have the clip that goes onto accellerator cable so there was loads of slack in the pedal, sorted now and i love it :) just need the linkage setting up tomorrow !

Silly problems  Fast then?

Aye silly problem alright! aye i like it, loads quicker than my SPI, seems like you press the throttle so far, then it goes abit stiffer then goes even further so it pulls even better, dont know if this is normal but i like it

Looking sweet mate .. is that reverse rake or where you are accelerating ?? I've got similar probz with my gt atm

Cheers mate 8-)

I hope its because I'm accelerating

Will get a pic of it on a flat road to see

If it's what I think it is, it's normal for a GT.

When you first press the pedal it's opening the small throttle valve, so quite light.

You hit a 'notch' about 60% down and the pedal movement is stiffer. That's when you open the big valve.

Aye, the throttlebody uses a progressive pair of throttles, pressing the pedal down two thirds only opens the smaller throttle plate, it feels lighter at this point as you are only acting on one return springs, then when you press the pedal further and open up the second, much bigger throttle plate, your acting on another return springs so the pedal gets stiffer.

Ah cheers lads :)

Found out the reason for the looky-likey reverse rake, 175/65's on back but fronts are 175/60's

Need new back tyres anyway so i will get some 175/60's.

Planning on banded steelies for next year...

That will be the reason ... Banded steel ummmmm will look sweet if it sits right

I would get 13's, cant decide between 7 + 8j or 7 + 7.5j

7j + 8j fo sho.

Defo 7j + 8j that's what my wheels are and with the right et they look sick

Wheyy bet you're well happy with the GT conv :p

Car's looking really nice bud! I also agree with 7J and 8J's :)

  • Author

Aye love it mate, still want quicker though!

Cheers :) looks like i will going with 7+8j!
