Ansty Midlands Meet pics

Featured Replies

I wasn't sure whether these pics would be of much interest to the folks on here, but then I decided I enjoy sharing pics so I'm posting it here anyway. So there. :-p:lol:

This took place last weekend on the 6th of March. It's the Ansty meet, as organised by a chappy from the T4 forums. Mostly aircooled, though the watercooled presence has been growing in recent years. Usually one meet in Spring and one in Autumn to take us in and out of the show season. Was pretty well attended, estimated 40-50ish cars over the course of the meet which lasted around 3 hours...

The sole Mk4 there. Anyone's off here?

Graffiti'd Bug. Not normally a fan of graffiti as a paintjob, but this worked pretty well:

More bugs than an NHS mattress:

Height wise, this was cock-on for me. Not too low, just enough to look puposeful:

More vans than a skater shoe shop:

This car has appeared in quite a few of my show albums. It's here again because it's awesome:

More of the Ambulance we saw earlier. I hope this wasn't used when the patient needed to get to hospital quickly...

A strong watercooled presence:

With aircooled van prices going into the stratosphere, the T4 and T5 vans seem to be the next hot thing at the moment:

This sounded like the flatulence of God. Heavily tuned 5-pot turbo diesel:

Usually a Yank or two turns up at these Ansty meets, and this was no exception. This actually made me say "ooh" out loud. Epic car, epic looks, and apparently an epic turning circle:

VW campers are cool. This however, is just a little bit cooler:

Low Golf:

Polo saloons make their presence known. Mine's the white one:

Really should have washed mine before I came out:

I could make a smartarse quip about needing paint here. But I shan't:

By this time, even more bugs had arrived. The lineup was constantly changing so there was always something to photograph:

The meet from t'other side:

Modern van gathering. Not everyone's cuppa, but personally I'm for anything which invokes vehicular enthusiasm:

DSC_0052-1.jpg

Lovely 5-pot burble from this when it left:

And that was that. After Dubfreeze, I learnt my lesson and took my SLR this time!! Another nice little opener to ease us back into the show routine. :)

i drive past that pretty much ever day on the way back from work, he parks it up on the exit to the industrial estate i work on. think the owner used to drive a red and white bug before this as it was always parked around the same area and hasn't been there since the jetta turned up, think he parks there to save paying for train station parking or some thing
