I bought my 1.0 standard a few weeks back looking like this:

budget was pretty tight but within an hour of bringing it home i ordered myself some coilovers, pressed plates and a bonnet bra :)

i then decided to paint my front badge a purple colour just to be a bit different :L

when i got the chance, i ddecided to get the coilovers stuck on and paint the wheels black (they were pretty scratched)

then when the weather got a bit better i decided to give her a clean. also put some aero wipers and a few stickers on :)

bought myself some new bulbs because the old ones were looking pretty yellow.. (just got some cheap xenon ones off ebay until i have the money for some decent HIDs)

got bored again and decided to paint my front badge pink while i was waiting for my GTI grille to come.. (haven't got a pic of it on yet)

still looking for some wheels.. i was thinking either some Ronal Turbo's or some white G60 Steels would look nice :)

i know it's not great but its a start! baring in mind i'm only 17 and living on my EMA :L

I'll upload more pics as i do more to it :)

really nice car not too keen on the bra or badge though but should look much better with the GTI grille :)

EDIT: What sort of paint did you use to paint your headliner and pillars? Being beige its the only part of my car that looks dirty, painting them black would look slick!

Why such a money? I had to pay for mine 1.0 £1400 a year (1st year) and i thought thats abit sky-high. Madness

Insurance is a joke i chcked some quotes yesterday for my first car a 1L polo would be 3500 annually and for a 1.4 would be 4500.

Hi, i only used some satin black paint from wilko (best paint money can buy if you ask me.. and £3.70 a tin!)

Don't trust these online quotes such as compare the market and go compare, from my experience they are 100% wrong! Online quotes with admiral were coming out at £2200 for my 1.0 6n2 with 0 NCD, rang them up, told them the same details I did online and I'm now paying £1400 a year.

Finally got chance to upload the pic of my headliner and pillars...

cheers mate, its not hard to do at all. and i'm thinking about leaving the grab handles the standard colour as they match the sun visors and the trim around the inside of the doors :)

trust me thats the cheapest i can get anywhere. bearing in mind I'm on my own policy and only 17.

what do you all think?

i know the tyres are huge but wheels came with 3 new ones and cant afford some stretch atm :(

I'm sure you'll wear those tyres out in about a month no problem at all! You gonna spray the wheels not red? :)

It'll probably take a bit longer than that :/

and they were black when i got them but were quite tatty..

i want the lips polished but tbf when you see them on the car they go really well imo
