Autogauge boost gauge installation

Featured Replies

Hi guys

My G40 came with an Autogauge boost gauge fitted but not wired up. It's one of the stepper motor ones, like this:

I've wired in the loom from the sender today but have got some bits left over and no power :D Does anybody have one of these, or know where I could get a copy of the instructions?

I think the extra loom might be for wiring in more gauges, and the power/earth go to the two silver nuts?

Easy, just ask that seller for a copy of the wiring diagram, as you just brought the car with the gauge part installed but there were no instructions from the previous owner

Yeah I've asked them but I'm not hopeful of a response as I won't be buying anything from them

you put one of the wires on the battery positive, the other wire on your tongue and the vac feed down your japeye.

saf: tried it, didn't work. got a buzz though ;)

Nige: Looks as though that's for the mechanical gauge. This one has got a sender in the engine bay. I've attached the vac line to it and run the loom through to the gauge itself. It's just power I need now.

I've got an Autogauge oil pressure gauge which has got the same connections but I can't find the instructions now

That's perfect, cheers mate :D I've been looking for the past week and couldn't find any instructions for that one.

Your not the only one, I googled the "autogauge boost gauge wiring" and there were so many people asking the same question, but most were for the analouge version

As an update, I finally got round to wiring it all up today. The wires are:

Black Wire - Earth

Red Wire - permanent +12v DC

Orange - dimmer +12v DC

White - ignition +12v DC

Hope this helps anybody else out there as there doesn't seem to be much info around
