He hasn't got a leg to stand on legally.. changing your mind doesn't constitute a refund, and he obviously knows that which is why he starting moaning about the postage times..

I'd have thought a refund minus costs would be a fair compromise but if he's refusing that then just ignore him, he can always try and sell the parts on if he's so concerned about the money..

I can't see Paypal doing anything about it as it's not through ebay, it was a private sale?..

although imo he shouldnt have a refund they can claim they've changed there mind

"you do not have give a refund if the buyer simply changes their mind"

If the parts do end up being returned to you, just do a 'return to sender, not known at this address' job on them, if you can intercept the courier/parcel delivery mannie before he drops them off. Better still, if they are needing signed for, decline to sign and tell them they were never requested by you and to send them back. No charge to you, I think that is enshrined in the posties laws somewhere.

he says he's going to send them back and expects a refund, how does he expect to get this refund? just tell him bollocks. explain that if he sends them back you will keep them as a good will gesture for him fucking you around.

he's fucked you about because he didn't think before buying them and now expects you to just say "yes mate i'll happily give you a full refund." that's just not how things work

there is a lesson here for the buyer to learn...

If he changes his mind/sells his car that were intended for, that's his problem and he should have thought about that before buying them.

And the small matter that the Distance Selling Regulations only apply to a business, and not a private sale...

Deffo no refund. i bought a set of wheels for my old polo then the day after decided i anted another scirocco again. I didnt go to the seller to ask for refund as it as my choice and not his fault. Some people are just idiots.

He said he's going to get them and send them straight back to me and demands a full refund.

Fact is though, they were about £12 to post iirc, so i'll be out of pocket and back to square 1. Plus all my costs for fuel, packaging materials etc.

Just a topic here to see what the general consensus is on this one.

A guy on here bought some G60 carriers off me, I've now posted them (they're currently in transit to this guy)

Bearing in mind they're heavy, so i've packaged them properly and driven to the post office in my own time.

Now he's messaged me wanting a refund, I've asked him why and he's said he's decided he's selling the car and they're surplus to requirements etc.

Is it me, or is that not really my problem? As they're on their way to him, there's nothing wrong with them so i'm not entitled to give him a refund really.

You wouldn't buy a loaf of bread from a shop, then decide you didn't want it and return it, would you?

Any comments/suggestions.
