I haven't, I've fucked that idea off now and I'll eventually be making a custom mount or a very heavily modded G40 one. So far I've cut a shit load out of a G40 mount but it still needs a lot more out to even be close to fitting the 16v lump, by that point it may be too weak for the job.

What was the reason for fucking binning off the 16v mount? Seemed like a good idea.

Well it was more the effort of making it all and it looking very agracultural. I would of still needed to strengthen the inner wing. It gave me a little more room at the front of the engine but the G40 bracket would give me more to hang the charger off so I decided to try that instead

Think I've made a bit of a fuck up gearbox wise tho. I had my (albit pretty fucked) gearbox sat in the back garden with what seemed like an even more fucked but unknown box that came one a written off G40 I broke. Plan was to run it in on my old box while I found a decent one, it seems that I've scrapped the wrong box tho so not even sure if this one's useable or not.

If I get a bit of spare time this week I might try and wire the engine in, but spare time is so hard to come by these days. Most days I'm working within feet of the polo but still can't get anything done on it

Been messing about with it for a little tonight although it was mostly trying to find bits I had for it. Finally found my little book of wiring notes too so can crack on with the loom

Did a bit the other day. Fitted a new dizzy and rotor arm, dug out the ht leads and set the firing order, fitted some of the engine plastic bits and plumed in some of the coolant hoses. Also dug out my stripped down 6n engine loom ready to start wiring it in.

Still got a lot of bits to try and find for it, most of which I have had in storage since I started stripping the car. Problem is the ones I can't find at my unit are more than likely buried with the rest of my polo spares at the back of this lock up

Probably just gonna be easier to source others rather than try and dig them out

Make sure to keep regular contact with the outside world of you go in there. I've lost more stuff than I can remember and had to buy again

Ah that brings back memories, i had a Red '90 XR3i back in the day, showroom condition, someone pulled out of a housing estate on me and that was the end of it. That was the week the twin towers went down, so 14yrs ago - feeling old now!

This one was pulled out of a scrap yard where it had sat for about 10 years. Needs extensive welding but is bone stock, low mileage and the interior is mint. It's one of a number of long term projects that I'll get round to one day... probably

Not much going on with it just now, it's sat at the back of my unit getting dusty. All my time there is spent working on customers cars atm while I try and earn enough to cover the cost of the filling fat bloke with the beards sack.

It's getting charged as long as it makes it through the engine run in (N/A) without popping a rod through the block or something. Gearbox wise it will be using a standard 5 speed box, and the organic clutch came out of a 180bhp G40 so should hopefully cope with the power I'm aiming for (I'd be happy with a reliable 180bhp).
