Fucking brilliant result! 8-)

Awesome work on the engine dude, bet your well chuffed!

Get some ARB blocks on it, makes such a differance!

Cheers azza, did I read something about you changing your plans with the mack1? what's happening with it now?

Yeah max buzzing with it, its already got arb blocks tho its the arb to tca bushes that its chewed through. It's not a very nice experience doing slightly above the speed limit in the outside lane and the car firing itself towards the central reservation when you come off the power :?

them there figures be up there wiv da best young guy you must be appy

haha guy you should be banned from motorways anyway

  • Author

Yes mate very appy :-D

Arris its far from the first time I've ended up taking the opposite direction I was supposed to on a motorway

Reet then let me introduce some thing that's been round club polo more times than ollys mum, the avy of doom. Saf's had it, Toby's had it and dom's even owned it, now its my turn...

At least one of the pistons has cracked due to valve contact so they will be cleaned and used as decorations for the shed. They will be replaced by afh pistons to give me a compression ratio of around 12.3:1. I'll be homing the bores out tomorrow and then its just a case of getting rings, bearings and gaskets to rebuild it, I have all the afh parts I need sat on the corner on my spare engine so as soon as I have the cash for the rebuild parts its game on 8-)

bit of a whore that block then.. lol

Telling you guy. Get it sorted man!!

An AVY block with AFH Pistons?

Everyone else got sloppy seconds! Can't even remember where I got that engine from but it was an interesting few miles before i broke it on the way to work!

Yeah the AFH pistons raise the compression ratio

one afh

Some time and a couple of cups of tea later, four afh pistons

And the two blocks together

yay ! :) paint it red for increased power

Intermaresting...

Now crack on!

I'm considering building a high compression hybrid, cammed with head work and such on twin 40's. Noise would be amazing

So its gonna still be the 1.6 16v but with a 12.3:1 CR? :-o

I thought i had gone big!

Go big or fuck off, as the saying goes

Not yet Ben, read the intro then had to pop out and haven't picked it up since. In my defence I've been keeping busy sorting out the shed and playing with these blocks so its all relevant stuff

Spring Fest :unibrow:

Yeap. I'm running against you guy, ha ha haa

When's springfest? Not sure if this engine will be in but even if it is it will almost certainly be running standard efi still. I wanna run it in and prove it on that before getting it on the itb's, just one step at a time and all that.

Any of you engine boys know the trick to getting the circlip back in the piston? I'm guessing there's a proper tool for it?

You'll get it in with something just don't damage the piston and make sure it locates properly haha

Spring Fest is on Sunday the 22nd of april
