Nothing being sunken into the inner wing Ben, the 6n mount holding bit will be welded on to of the inner wing or chassis leg, maybe both. That totally depends on how it lines up in the mk2. I've seen it done before but can't remember exactly how it sat off the top of my head

Are the 6N mounts steel?

Right then fucko's. This is a 6n engine bay, on the drivers side chassis leg there is a rather large raised mounting point. This is what I am planning on cutting out and welding on to the mk2 chassis leg. The 6n engine mount sits on top of that and bridges over to the casing on the side of the engine. It will no doubt need adjusting to fit how I want it too but there is not reason it won't work and there is no reason anything would be touching the wheel.

Is that clear enough for you two now?

Sounds good to me, so in doing that you can run a charger with the AFH?

You could make it slightly adjustable, upwards, sideways and rotational. So you can easily iron out any vibrations. Can't see it doing the charger any good etc.

Hats off to you progressing with the EFI too!

Be better mounted there anyway even if not charging

Ben I'm pretty sure the one I saw done like that had no such issues, even if it did I would modify the mount before cutting my inner wings up

Max the main thinking behind it is that I've only been running two bolts in the front engine mount, its been fine up to now but its gonna be under a fair amount more stress with more power going through it. I could run one of those plates people used to extend the mount to the lower holes but I'm still not convinced these are all that effective and it could very well get in the way of the charger mounting. I wanna run the 6n alternator mounting bracket as it already has the correct pulleys for the belt and people have modified these to work with charters already in lupo's, plus getting rid of the early style mount gives a little bit more room to play with in the area were I need it most, its one less thing to have to work around

Arris, yep

Dropped on to a bit of a bargain today which is going to become my daily/sensible car when the polo comes off the road in April

IMAG1297.jpg

Bit of a problem tho, the wheel has fallen off it

IMAG1300.jpg

But for £140 with 9 months mot and tdi powaar I'm not complaining, should be a nice easy fix. Got another kid on the way so needed to get a bigger and more family friendly motor for daily duties and this should do the job nicely. Problem is I need to shift one of the other cars cause I've run out of space, the polo's going nowhere so its gonna be a toss up between the jetta and the chevette although I don't wanna get rid of either :-(

:( :( :(

Dont wanna be getting rid of either :(

Whats going on with the jetta??? what state is it in? haha

How easy would it be to get an MOT (like, a real one) lol

id love that jetta for the noise lol, you should put it on a dyno haha

The jetta is a long long way off mate. Couple of little bits of welding, empty engine bay, rear seats need a couple of brackets welding in to finish, both front wings are dead, one of the rear hubs needs putting back together. No doubt there's more that I've forgot. Tbh if it comes to that going it will probably have the good bits taken off and the rest weighed in, I'm just not sure I could do that to it :-(

The other option is just chucking the chevette back together and putting it on eBay, but I don't wanna get rid of that either cause I really wanna slam the living shit out of it :-(

No noise mate the engine from it was sold a while back

ah really lame!!!

That would defo be the sensible thing to do Ben, its just really hard to give up on the jetta, I've had it for about 4 years now, I think scrapping it would he like having a sick family pet put down that you've had years, you know deep down its the right thing to do but that doesn't make it any easier :-(

need to swap my 5 speed over to the new coupe too. my 4 speed doesent have the bit where to select reverse you push the stick down! means that its really easy to put in reverse instead of first!

That Focus is lower than Ben's right ?

Congrats on the impending little one, you're a machine Guy. Jeremy Kyle would be proud.

DIRTY BLOODY NORTHENER!

Should see it now with its 5 speed goodness 8-)

now you have no excuse to hide behind if not on the floor

really like the car i bet it gonna be weird going from a fast slammed car to a high slow diesal

Had some fairly nice weather today which resulted in a bit of an impromptu car day at mine, bring on the summer 8-)

A mates turning his clio cup into a track slag so most of the work was on that but I did mod my coilies to try and get the rh cups to fit the front of the polo without spacers, got it as best I could and it looks like i'll get away with 5mm ones instead of the 20mm ones it needed before which I'm happy with

Only pic I got
