By now everyone probably knows how disappointing this did on the strip at spring fest, the main issue seemed to be trying to get it off the line cleanly which was nigh on impossible. I've never been happy with the early flywheel I had to use on this (due to not having a 6n starter at the time), even as a 1.4 it wanted to spin up easier on launches than the afh setup in my mk2f which had the 6n fly, so that's the first thing I'm gonna be changing. Another thing that no doubt contributed to how easy it was to spin up was the fact that I had over inflated a front tire to 48psi due to having problems with it sealing and forgot to deflated it some before setting off

I've also had another rear slave cylinder go pop so while I'm working on the brakes I've decided to finally fit my vaux 256mm front brake setup, every thing I need has been ordered and I'm just waiting for them to turn up. I also had to run the cups mid refurb so they will be getting finished off and I've also decided to finally sort out my messy engine bay

After Sunday I also need a new windscreen and possibly gearbox although a hybrid ATV/8P box should be finding its way on to this at some point

Shame we werent getting good times, wierd man, mine was killing yours on launches but yours was eating mine on top end! I still cant believe i only got under 75mph max at the end of the strip

Oh and btw, mk4 starters sound so much nicer lol did u hear mine? Only needs the key turned about half a second when warm!

I had 83mph on some runs, all about the launch man

Mine was launching really well! When me and guy had a race i had a much better launch and got away, bit by the end he was going over 10mph quicker lol

I wouldn't bother with a early flywheel arris, they are fairly gay

I was going to be taking this off the road soon to start pissing about with charging it but that's gone out the window now and i'll be keeping it on the road as a second car but start uprating shit and getting it ready for when it is charged and then try and aim to do the charging over winter. Mostly this is cause I want it still on the road for action just incase I can make it this year but also i'll still have some thing fun to blast around in if we ever get any nice weather

It seems pointless trying to put more power through it until I know I can use it, which atm I obviously can't

Ah just noticed your edit, why would I want to sell them? They already have 195's on so I would be gaining nothing but longer gearing which it doesn't need

You'd have ground it down to 4 little stumps with the ride height your at now.

They're only really designed for performance in mind, not stance

Think i may start experimenting with a few designs of subframe that people -~60mm down can use without bottoming out on everything. I'm gonna be wrapping mine in exhaust heat wrap to protect it abit better.

As nicks said at GTI though, having rock hard springs doesn't help, so your always gonna be fighting a loosing battle.

It seems the more power you have, the harder it is to get off the line, you could always try tuning your engine to bias away from torque?

Theres not much more you can do with it being this low
