Honestly mate, after driving yours, softer suspension and lower pressures will help it launch so much!

I think everyones issue is trying to be too fast off the line at the pod, my mk1 doesnt spin much at all as I just pll away with a smooth progressive action on the accelerator, otherwise I would just sit here and bounce around wasting time. Wish I had of had a go in yours to see if it is down to this, you shouldnt be almost 2 seconds slower than mine, no way!!

yeah true that mate, but if you have the power you wanna try and get it down ASAP, I know you're dealing with having no traction appropriately and times show that, but more traction would mean you could get on it even sooner :)

Guy soften the front up and drop tyres to about 15psi next time

What you coming to poloshow in then mr guy?

Should be in the polo Ben

The front of it isn't going to get any softer lads so i'll just have to find other ways of dealing with it

Your all just shit drivers, end of

I wanna go :crybaby:

nah tobes, as soon as i moved his car about 3 feet i thought fuck me this is hard.

just soften front, rear being stiff will reduce weight transfer :p

its like panda ran shit times at GTI inters last year cause traction....or man up and drive properly :p i want a few more go's in it on the strip to try improve haha, you can abuse mine to keep you entertained whilst i do so

I have openly admitted to being shit at it which is why I gave it to arris and told him to get me a good time, he failed tho :-(

  • Author

I'd happily play in yours on the strip all day, it was so nice to drive

6n's are far from my favorite car but I like yours a lot, no matter how much I take the piss out of it for being a 6n

haha i wasnt used to it man! besides you failed in mine, 18 fucking seconds man! hows that even possible! did you stall? lmao.

how do you cope with it lmao, your ride must actually feel worse than cars at work which we fit SOLID BARS instead of springs/dampers for setting perfect ride heights

haha guy them doors were such a nice person to get back out last night, all the roundabouts in hinkley/nuneaton just wedged them in more :p

Arris you had a little panicked look on you face when you first went to put on it the boot and it was bigger than you thought

also ''will they go in''

''yeahhhh sure, i dont even have an interior in''

walks to car...

''hmmm!''

do you want some new bleed nipples and rubber caps?

Should be too difficult to mod it to fit mate, think I saw some one mention that they just opened it up to suit the gm hose

Still waiting for the last bits of the 256 brake set up to turn up so thought I'd sort a few jobs on the sierra but spotted a plastic cover for the afh and decided to clip that on first, one thing led to another and 6 hours later I'd finished fitted the 4 branch, top fill rad, pacet fan and tidied up the bay as well as fitting the powers covers and still done nothing on the sierra

Rad fan is supposed to go the same way as air flow mate, not downwards

  • Author

It's like that so it will suck the front end down when the fan kicks in

Is this for traction?

Like old F1 cars being sucked to floor with fans?

Also, when your fan kicks in, ensure it makes lots of catchy noisy and goes GRERRRRRRR

ITS MEANT TO MAKE THAT NOISE SO I KNOW ITS WORKING

this is one of the best build threads ever hahahah love it !!!

Cheers mate

256 discs have arrived and all I need now are the correct banjo bolts which I've gotta phone about tomorrow to see if a local company have restocked. Hopefully i'll have these on for Stanford at the weekend 8-)

Need to extend my exhaust by about a foot to reach the down pipe so i'll venture out into the rain to get started on to that once I've finished my cup of tea 8-)

dude if you need any help, even though i have lots of work to do and my car haha, give me a shout!

  • 2 weeks later...

Dude, don't get rid of this.

I think you would be totally gutted if you did, it looks wicked even with the battered wing and rear quarter.

Put some effort into the bodywork, get the brakes fitted and get the eaton conversion done, you'll be back in love!

Everyone goes through these rough patches, and winds up either wanting the car back, or doubting their sanity after taking it for a spin.

get rid of it? where did that come from? LOL
