Featured Replies

So i used to frequent this forum quite a lot! Used to have a 6n Polo, moved to jap cars (Colt CZT) After some fettling that was running 220bhp

Then a saw sense and missed The awesome VW online community so i bought a mk5 gti

When it was born (as far as I'm concerned) :

After this a mate fitted me cruise control! (no pic)

Then it went into evo mag:

I had a HPFP fitted at psi in stoke..

Then i went back and had WALK and AP Coilovers fitted:

Then i got some BBS Pascaras:

I was a little annoyed at myself for getting these...didnt really think it through. Front tyres needed changing due to low tread but also the 235 width was scrubbing all the time, so got some new tyres for the front, and had the nail in the tyre repaired at the back. The wheels still need refurbishing which i will be getting done asap and one had a flat spot in it which the guys at WRC said the can also remove for me.

Even back to 225 tyres it was still scrubbing, so i decided to get my hands dirty!

Wheels off (you can see the new tyres in that pic):

Then took this screw out and forced the wheel lining behind:

Then i took a rubber hammed and tapped the metal bit that held the screw up into the arch which left me with alot more room, then i increased the hight of the AP's by another thread and the results:

I then sent off the bluefin to get it reset so it will be ready with stage 2+...but as i had to have stage 1 first i thought it rude not to try it on the car! it was amazing! complete transformation.

Now i have some R32 brakes, a miltek TBE and an ITG it fit on the 20th august! and then the stage 2+ map and I'm done!

Addition 13/08/2010:

I fitted my ITG: (pics are missing a nut and a tie)

Then fitted my Miltek...well i didnt but the nice garage people did.

Then stuck stage 2+ Bluefin Map on!

UPDATE 22/08/10

R32 BrAkes went on yesterday! made a massive difference.

well after a lot of hassle trying to get Superchips to give me a 2+ map that worked, and them telling me its my car. I went to Awesome gti and had revo stage 2+ loaded, perfect. Made 290bhp / 330ft torque

Rang Superchips who reset my handset and refunded me any money i spent with them (awesome service)

Had a DSG service done which went well and made a massive difference, car is a lot smoother now.

Dont have any further "plans" for the car. Just booked myself round Nurburgring in may!

Once I'm back in going to be trading it in for the new polo gti! Love the DSG box and the 1.4tsi engine sounds pretty good for economy/power.

parada spec 2's are probably THE best tyres I've ever had on a car. Completely transform the handling.

i have always found it quite smooth, i suppose you learn your cars ways and learn to make it all a smooth operation :)

i have had prada spec 2's on every car i have owned, sometimes a bit iffy in the wet but when they let go is slow and gradual so you can control it.
