So I needed a car quickly and cheaply and a mate of mine said he had a 1.0 Polo for sale which had a few problems.

He had been told the gearbox was going but he couldn't tell so I went to have a look.

Took it for a drive and figured the box was fine but there were a few problems so snapped it up cheap.

Here is the beast here just as I got her home.

So it turns out the front wheel bearings were at fault for the 'gearbox' noise so work started on them

Old bearings off...one on the left is well shagged.

Then I thought...well I'm here now maybe I'll just quickly change these:

Everything got put back on I was rocking it for almost a week like this:

The very nose down stance got a bit boring so today I started work on the rear

Good job too...check the state of this shock that came off!!!

So time for a quick clean and a photoshoot to see how she looks.

I quite pleased at how this has turned out...although it is dog slow. Whoever says a 1.0 6n is quick or nippy needs to have a go in another car, like anything is faster than this haha. Or maybe I've just been spoiled by driving valvers for so long?

Well its not all I've done, it has valver rears on it and clear side repeaters.

And to Jon...I don't think it is fjord blue...as my valver is fjord blue and its a totally different shade from that.

Valver is refusing to pass the emissions test on the MOT.

I think it needs a new throttle body and/or a VW spec ECU reset...but I simple don't have the money to do such a thing :(
