take it your 6n is flash red for the best mach on bumpers use red primmer i was told this in vw this week wen i painted mine :)

recently reversed this into a skip at about a quarter of a mph somehow.. it was dark, no street lights and the skip wasnt lit up, tragiccc!! paint flaked off rear bumper, slight scrape on boot pillar and slightly cracked 6n2 rear light

Phone the skip company serious, i used to work for 1 and if it isn't lit up their liable. Chances are they'll not even have a license to put skips on streets (Not many have) so they'll pay you out cos theyd get shot if it went to court

Good shout mate ial go and see if its still there later today, the skip is outside the girlfriends house! And yes ry, its been on here for quite a while although I had the car for quite a while before I put it on here. Been looking at mk3golf 16v again though aha

bit of an update (with pics to follow soon) as i havnt done in a while because i have been focussing on my studies.. I've painted the rear bumper back up after reversing it into a skip which came out ookay!

Also got a 6n2 gti splitter on there too that i picked up the other day

Also.. yesterday i got a bit carried away with cleaning and took the trim under the windscreen off to get some leaves out to reveal an ants nest, a big fuckoff one at that!! for some reason i took the pollen filter out and a few fell into the car so the next time i switch the blowers on, its safe to say I'm fucked :S

will be looking for some new wheels soon too, setting a budget of about £400 ish.. any suggestions too?

and yeah I'm thinking either spaced or banded slightly, like 1" allround for a little more dish but ial keep the subtleness and then space them out a tiny bit more to get the wheels flush! i'm repainting the bumpers when it warms up a bit to get a better colour match because they're not quite right and the fronts been painted a year now and is a bit stone chipped :/ also good news, there are no speedbumps on my route to uni so no excuses not to go lower :p

not really done anything to this in ages, purely just been transport to get to work before i go to uni but the most recent update is a set of these recaro's that i just couldnt pass up! i bought some seats from a polo CL with the recline and set to work.. basically stripping down to a bare frame and then welded some brackets so that i could bolt the recaro's straight on top so when the time comes to sell, the buyer can take the seats off the bases and put their own on.. but anyways...

and tomorrow, a set of 15x7" borbet atiwe's should be going on :)

thanks for all the comments but sorry for late replies, i will get photos for how i tiwsted the badge but basically just file or cut another slot into the grille. you might have to file one of the clips off the badge though, i had to silicone my badge back in... did it with silicone because its strong enough to hold and easy to pull back off.

update though, bought some bits off ashii^^ grill surround painted satin black, polished the vw badge and painted the inside satin black and fly eyes'd my headlights/ indicators and fitted 16v arch liners!! just want some clear side repeaters (maybe fly eyes'd to carry on the theme) umming and arr-ing an interior and some wheel spacers but generally going for a subtle daily kinda thing... anyways here's the pics :)

forgot to mention that I'm going to get a gti splitter and want to just get a bit of satin vinyl to go under the indicator to sort out where the black on the grill just cuts off to red

sorry to sound dumb, but how do you ''fly eye'' your headlights... loving the front end in this picture (apart from the black grille surround but i see you've sorted that now!)

the fly eyes is like a vinyl that you stick over the headlights that a friend gave and then did for me but think the place that you get it from is "flyeyesuk.com" or very similar!

i have now got some 15x7 borbet atiwe's on this and the front NEEDS to go down more! however the coilovers adjuster rings have seized on the threads so has anybody managed to unseize theirs and have any tips for doing it without damaging anything? thinking lots of wd40 and a wirebrush to free things up.

first real update in a while, finally got my recaros in after they were sat around for about a month. basically bought some seats from a polo CL and stripped them down to the bases, got a mate (minimat on here) to kindly weld some tabs onto them so i could bolt the recaros onto them.. i chose CL bases because they have a lift/recline handle whereas the L ones don't :)

i also bought some 15x7" borbet atiwe's off a friend with some brand new bridgestone potenzas on that had never even touched the road for cheap.. but they have "bare" stretch's which i personally wouldnt have gone for but i was desperate for tyres! also they look like they had been painted in the dark with a spoon and the masking had been done by a blind person. after getting these on i decided to finally sort out how the car was sitting and lower the front some more, however after not touching the coilies for a year or so they had well and properly stuck and with the adjuster rings at the bottom of the threads i didnt want to just take the helpers out of the front and be stuck with the rear too high and a front that was lower than anne widdecombes nipples so i decided to chop 2 coils out of the helpers.. this way i got more lows and also the spring stays seated :gay:

next I'm going to make some centre caps for the wheels and paint the wheels the same colour my steels were (silver) to retain the subtleness but polish the lips of them. also just got a few scabby bits to sort out that are beginning to appear..

New pics, painted wheels, lowered the front another 10mm to get it sitting nicer and gave it a good clean. this is going to be for sale soon as I'm looking to buy a 6n2 gti.

also made up them centre caps for the borbets which i was well chuffed about!

What relatively simple engine swaps are good for these? I'm going to look into it too but jut curious. I'm thinking about either selling this and getting something quicker, it sticking something decent in this during my 4 m

onth break from uni.
