Nice car mate, how much if u dont mind me askin?

hmmm.... I payed £1100 for it, I think I maybe over payed a bit after finding he was asking for £900 on this site. But I'm not that bothered really its in great condition and runs well to say its nearly at 175k. Do you think I over payed?

you probably did but meh who cares when you've got a decent gt for a first car ;)

jetex do a decent exhaust for this off the shelf, you can find them by searching "jetex polo" in google and its the top link i think :)

Get a nice custom on there, would sound lovely with a 4 branch straight through. Looks a nice tidy car. Welcome aswell.

this is my old gt :) still looks wicked mate

clean looking car =D

welcome to club polo and nobody minds the noobishness aslong as you post in the correct sections lol

Lovely car mate, plans sound good.

Think i would be a bit hacked off if he was advertising for £900 on here and you payed 200 over the odds though!

Alright guys? Just a quick one, there is quite a noticeable petrol smell about the car, especially inside.

Does anyone know what this might be? Thanks

I would first start with the fuel filler neck as they tend to rust like nobodys business. Jack the offside rear up, take the wheel off and have a good look in there, see if you can see any leakage.

excellent choice on the first car front, i would say 1100 was still a decent price, as gts are demanding a pretty high these days, i nearly bought one for more than that (that sold for 1300, and was not without its faults).

Wanted that colour too, but had to settle for an alpine white g40 ;)

Great first car 8-), bet the insurance is a killer though :-o

Plans for it sound great, a set of 14" BBS RA's would be great and can be picked up for a decent price, recently got a set for mine, going to use 195/45/14 tyres, recon they will need 20mm spacers on the rear though, after looking at loads on here they dont seem to fill the arches at the rear when fitted straight on.

yeah I was thinking the same on the spacer front, the insurance was 1300 until I wanted to pay monthly and it shot upto 1800! its a bitch but worth it for the car, I mean its pretty quick and very fun too drive for a 1.3. Still worried about nearly 173,000 on the clock though.

Just keep ontop of the maintainance, even a full engine swap isnt going to cost the world ;)

Sam.

mileage means very little on a well maintained car. its the bushes, suspension and bodywork that you should be worried about at that mileage.

With regards to the price, i think thats spot on for the money. People always claim you can pick them up for less in good condition but this isnt usually the case. Ignore them.

Nice set of wheels and a custom system and your on to a winner. However it is your car and if you want to do things differently thats up to you.

Easy guys thought I was hoping to post an update today with new suspension and wheels fitting but due to a problem with getting top mounts it's pretty boring

nothing much other than new plates

However somethings to look forward too, for me at least.

60/50 Ap springs and shocks from Phil

BBS RZ? Off tezmc's old GT

Should have some decent pics up this weekend.

Just a heads up, those plates are illegal so don't be too surprised if you get pulled and a £60 fine.

Wheels look good :-)

Moved!

Nice and tidy - I like it. Why the suspension kit though? That looks like it's already got a 70 kit on?
