Tried clearing the crank breather hose the other day (revving and finger over breather, then oil change) , as my engine was soaked in emulsified oil to the point where it showed on the dipstick a bit (Its deffo not a h. gasket job, i'm sure now)

Just wondering..

1. How to take the crankcase breather off. Its one of those weird plastic jobs on the top of the block.. I couldn't completely remove all the white crap..

2. If I get an induction kit, I can't really run it open, so would I buy a wee filter thingie for crankcase breather and just jubilee clip it on? Think i've seen it done before..?

3. If I did get said induction kit, what would I do with the wee vacuum hose thingies that go to the air filter? They were sooking like mad when I had them disconnected and the air filter off..

Also kinda gutted today, checked the oil cap, and my old friend EMULSIOONN is back, but still no loss of coolant, so I think Mr. Engine Block is kinda clogged with the sh*te... D:

I'm off all next week and i'm going to do a lot of jobs on the polo.

Couldn't find any, but is there a guide of how to remove and clean the crankcase strainer? (under breather pipe)

Its just that access looks quite limited.

I had the same problem. It a stupid clip type and what I done was got my self an induction kit. And made myself a oil catch tank. Which I then got two samco hoses. One for tank breather and one to let it breathe. I had no crap since. Take a look on my pictures Justin 6n. I can make one up for you if you like.

when fitting an induction kit, you could just leave the air filter case on, but just without a filter in it, and attach the new filter to the end of the air filter case.

this way it still has the breather pipe attached properly and you can still use the hot air feed, i have had this on mine for over a year now, without any issues. although if you get the correct kit, it would have an outlet for the breather.

with the breather pipe, almost every 6n polo i have worked on has a blocked pipe, so personally i take mine off every now and then and blow out the crap wth compressed air.
