honda 90 low rider

Featured Replies

i know a few people off here are in to these so thought i'd post a few random shots of what we've been up to tonight, basically we got pissed and chopped up an old cub 90, here's the results

IMAG0150.jpg

and this is a before, albeit a bit of a naff photo

IMAG0145.jpg

couple of during's

IMAG0146.jpg

even after that it took five of us swinging off it to bend it, these things really are bomb proof

IMAG0148.jpg

also chopped the rust out of the back of it

still to do, relocate rear shock mountings to a much closer location to how they are mocked up in the pics, chop a couple of inches off the tank recess/rear mud guard ready for some customisation...

and some inspiration

I feel sorry for the poor old honda. Could have been used to rebuild and be something different. 8-)

nah sorry mate no engines, infact we need one for this but they are going for sill money for genuine Honda ones. what's up with the lump in it Steve? there's not a lot that can wrong with these that isn't easily fixed? failing that i guess most pit bike engine would fit and some thing like an Xsport 110 engine would be pretty epic in a trike and the whole bikes can be picked up cheap enough these days mate

cheers for all the comments should have some more updates latter 8-)

when its ready send it to me for metal flake and striping, would look fookin ace!!! 8-)

The one that's in it seized, about 20 years ago, and it's not seen any oil since, so I'd say it's time for a new one

I'm not too sure about a 110, I had a borrowed 50 in it for a while and hurt myself a few too many times

reminds me of Hotrod

I was thinking more of Colin Furze

That looks cool as funk haha!

Cub 90's are literally indestructable! :-)

Makes me miss my own cub 90, i used to ride it round the pit near me all day long and it never broke absolutely loved it.

In my mums garage i still have pretty much everything except the engine pm me if you want anything.

Makes me miss mine :(. might trawl ebay for another methinks!

Effel you know you need to do it

maherjack you've got the whole bike minus the engine, does this include the frame?

did some more on this today, relocated the top rear shock mount although i need some shorter shocks to drop it down some more, theres a couple of mountings that go between the forks and the handle bars which have also been removed

IMAG0156.jpg

and then we got the matt black out

some thing i did before we had even started on the bike was cut a big section out of the exhaust which has all the baffles in and welded the end back on. we tried this on my mates cub tonight and it sounds cool as fuck, proper raspy and gives off a few pops on over run. this is it next to my mates standard pipe for a size comparison

rear light and number plate holder are already sorted, for a head light i'm looking at some thing like this (click me.), for a speedo i'm thinking about just getting some thing proper retro looking and making a bracket to hold it on to the side of the main bar of the frame up towards were it meets the forks. i've also been toying with the idea of a 'suicide shifter'

bad fucking ass? we have made something similar with a puch maxi hardtail but turned it into more of a chopper. aint got no pics though as its alll been sent off to powder coaters

takegawa 124+R twinspark hmm what an engine.

Just bought a honda crf50 engine with a kitaco 88 kit for 350 quids not badly priced 88s and go like stink.

today saw some progress on this ^^gibbo and chuck built a engine from scratch out of boxes of spares they had lying around and we came up with a few idea's for it, one of which is a colour scheme of jcb yellow and satin black detaling.

couple of pics of me doing some cheesy posing (excuse the state of me i'd just finished fitting a engine)
