New style electronic MOT

Featured Replies

When did these come into play?

Went to see a car the other day and 2 of the MOT's was in the new style - A4 sized, not the A5 coloured slip I'm used to seeing...

Thing is it said Jan 2005. Were they out then?

I ask because the car had a low mileage and was a bit scruffy. I walked away as looked a bit fishy to me.

Also does anyone know if the cars mileage is now recorded by the DVLA for checks to be ran?

Cheers

J.

i got the mot done on the g the other day and it came back with the a4 size bit, i thought it was just the bit you used to get with the a5 bit, but its the actual mot certificate and the mileage is on there to so i think any thing that is typed onto the certificate does go on record to the dvla.

but the mileage is irrelevant as thye only check the previous MOT, i went in for an MOT with a 100k on the clock one year and 20k and the next and they never batted an eye lid!

Do what mate?? They don't just check the milage from the old M.o.T. and yes the milage is sent of via the internat to the dvla, police etc etc
