i think its time i start a build thread as i actuall plan to keep this car

now this is gonna take me some time to get this to how i really want it due to moneys but here goes

its a vw polo c formel e 1984 1093cc breadvan

in what can only be described as a "different" colour, i dont know if its a rare colour its called brombeer and i haven't seen another yet so....

anyway i picked this up saturday 26th march from member "steed" who i must say is a top bloke for a very good price with 12 months test and 6 months tax and also only 80k on the clock (which i think are cool with the shift light and mpg meter)

also steed has put a weber carb with k&n and a 4-2-1 manifold on it so its nippy for a 1.1 lol

anyway heres some pics of how it stands:

dont worry all them stickers are gone lol just repping the massive with the silver clubpolo sticker top n centre lol

and once id got it home (90 miles and didnt skip a beat)

my plans are to get some nice 13"s maybe 14"s an upswept angled exhaust scirrocco/ corrado seats (fronts) no rears just plyed and fabricated

a rear upper strut brace, a general tidy and polish derby front set up and a slight retro touch that shall be revealed in due time plus one other mod i think will be a gooden if i can find a place to do it for me lol watch this space anyhoo

i will keep this updated as and when new stuff is progressing

That's very nice, lowered just enough. I reckon the current wheels have serious potential too, just need to polish the faces on the spokes and they'd look a lot better. Great colour. Looks like the remote control mirrors have been replaced with poverty spec ones judging by the hole in the door card and the high level of trim. If you go for a Derby nose, make sure you get the trim strip for the bonnet leading edge or that you get your bonnet leading edge flattened out, it looks much better with than without.

i thought that but its had new door cards all round :( need to retrim them lol and yeah i will i got a mate with a full derby set-up I'm tryna haggle lol

good to see she got home safe and sound (the 4-2-1 mani is a standard formel e spec one though matey :p )

Yes those are non original door cards in the front, the vinyl had given up on the original ones.

looks a really smart car nice to see another formel e, the interior is in surprisingly good nick

i'd try those wheels in a different colour if i were you, they could look perfect.

right time for an update i had busy day yesterday i got up at the crack of a sparrows fart when the postman arrived delivering me a mk1 golf gti splitter i bought off edition

i then headed to east dulwich to meet a very cool german to pick up some mirrors then on the way back i stopped in my local fabric warehouse to pick out some material

i went for a tan diamond stiched suade in the end and this is the results:

comments welcome my fave is the mirrors as i haven't seen it done before and they're so much more practical being internally adjustable and much larger

ill get a pic of the door card when i finish them not gonna be a fabulous job its my first attempt and the way the suade is stiched its not very strechy so its not going properly round the armrest part but I'm ok with it lol

right well as money a bit tigh at the moment I'm foing the small mods so heres a lil update grille and eyebrow and also a bit of red detail on the newly black bumpers which i did with boiled lynseed oil bumpers:D

thinkin the splitter might have to go and just get some lower profile tyres on it but :/

I'm well chuffed with it at the mo

indeed they are picked em up locally for £20 and drilled all the appropriate holes just need to get the brass plates which hold the adjuster to the door off a loon as on a scirrocco they thread straight through the door lol

hint hint anyone got any plus all the rubber sleeves and handle caps ?

and also a inner handle surround drivers side

I think I still need to trim the bases, and I just left the adjusters dangling as I have tweeters in the door card holes lol..

Not sure on the splitter, I reckon if it was a bit smaller and tucked up a bit it would look better

its all trimmed and fitted properly now pics to follow

also laminx yellow lights and read rears too now

just generally tidying up the interior atm

-fixed passenger seat lean function -check-

-refitted glove box with new mounting bracket -check-

-vax cleaned my carpets -check-

-taken all vents etc out and cleaned thoroughly -check-

-fixed courtesy light -check-

-sourced full adjustable mirror handle setup -check-

now i just really wanna get my sound system fitted :(

and then the real mods can start lol

haha my old bready she is a lovley little car looks a bit better now than when i had it though :p

right well my big treat has come through and hear it is a taifun front grill and headlight setup I'm over the f'ing moon with it just wanna get a mk2 golf splitter the mk1 one is irritating me to the tits atm
