Right thought id start a project thread as iv been meaning to for a while, the car so far:

1997 5door L model (no power steering or electric windows:) )

engine: 1.4 8v

exterior: black badges, pressed plates and standard 8v bumpers

brakes: standard

suspension: tech racing coilovers (budget)

wheels: were 13" steelies, now on 14" P-slots

sound: new sony head unit with AUX and usb

to do list:

smoked front lights/side repeaters

blacked out rear lights

flat wipers and de-wipered rear

wrapped gloss black roof

smaller ariel

6n2 gti splitter

roll/grind the arches

mk3 golf gti interior, (preferably leather vr6)

thats all I've got for now, more will probably get added once the student loans come through :D

when i first got her, picked up for £600 with 82k on the clocks

then came the first thing needed.....coilovers! but UPS messed up the delivery witch then made me end up having to wait 2 months to recieve them instead of the 2weeks i was told

You want 120mm on the front and 100m on the back ;) Looks nice though man!

PS: I've got a delocked handle if you want to delock your passenger side ;)

doubt ill raise the rear, sits perfectly over the wheels imo but the front deffinatley needs dropping more. ah man i would take it but funds are mega tight at the minute but thanks anyway for the offer :)

Looks nice mate but please sort your rusty exhaust :p

its soon to be gone anyway cos its got a gaping hole in it from some dick technician at kwik-fit. there was a hole previous but he decided to stick his finger in it and pull it to make it twice as bad and then said to me "that'll cost you about £104 for a new backbox" !!!!!

whats a good cleaner to use to get rid of rust?

Ha idiots and well you can use rust remover but tbh that exhaust looks far gone.

Your probably best off just buying a cheap backbox off here, i have one for sale but its abit big haha

Another polo from Kettering sweet! Looking good on them p slots dude!

@Jordan Bmx - lol i wanna keep it stealth, iv done the big exhaust thing before and loud noises dont do it for me much anymore lol

@SamC - yeah man iv seen a few round here, and thanks! iv always loved the p-slots personally i think they sut 6n's nicely :)

dude instead of going to all that trouble of referbing that back box just get a cheery bomb put on it will sound a little nicer and will save you alot of time and money

they only cost like £40 on ebay

just make sure to either weld it on or clamp it all in all i think this car is gonna be nice to watch ;)
