As you can see a little bit has changed, i de-wipered the rear and have sprayed the front rubstrip gloss black. I'm gonna match the rears up at somepoint and either do the same with the sides or get rid of them completely. I've decided on the wheels i want and all i need is sell the last of the stuff from my old mk4 Golf to and i'll be ordering them and getting some audio sorted too. I'm also gonna get some pressed plates ordered too as i hate the current ones!

I've now fitted the wheels on properly. I had to raise the rears up so the tyres don't rub too much and wound the front left all the way down! Not the best pics in the world but when it's sunny i'm sure i'll get more :D Oh, and i think i might be addicted to stickers lol

On Sunday I went round to try and help my mate un-seize the coilovers on his 6n. We failed but I thought i'd take the opportunity to take some quick pics. What's annoying me though is it's still not low enough for me yet :( Time to take the helper springs out i think and get some rear camber going. So looks like i'll need to modify the front arch liners to get it to all fit under there.

Oh, and i'm going to take a trip to VW on Saturday to order some bits!!

Loving it mate, IMO one of the best colours for a 6n2. Get a splitter and a gti grill and it will look sweet!

  • Author

Yer, i love the colour more and more every day!! Gti splitter is definitely on my shopping list but i'm not to keen on the grill. So the standard one will stay for the moment!

New wheels look great dude! Remember its not all about lows, looks nice as it is.

Sure it would look real good with more lows and camber though!

Well there's some good news and some bad news with my build at the minute. A day after going to DC11 my gearbox decided it was going to die. It's not blown up but i didn't want to risk getting it that far so have stopped using it for the minute. Just need to weigh up whether to get the old box rebuild or buy a second hand one.

On the plus side, i had a nice note when i got home saying a parcel had been left with one of my neighbours. Upon opening it i found the things below enclosed (except for the plates which were bought at DC11)

So if nothing else i can fit my steering wheel and camber shims whilst i sort the gearbox issue out. Updates as and when they happen :D

your estate was better :p

wheels are nice tho

  • Author

hahaha, i was looking at some pics of the estate tonight and your right, it was better. And i was about to take it to the next level but sort of chickened out!! Looking at changing this next year for an Audi estate though, but still, i'm going to make it as nice a temporary measure as i can!!

As i've can't drive it anywhere at the minute i decided to do some painting of the front rubstrip. it's a rubbish job when seen up close but it'll do for the minute. Should getting a gearbox delivered tomorrow so it may just be back on the road for the Polo show. Still, here's some fresh pics from today :)

Happy days at last, my gearbox is now fixed (well, replaced). Just needs a little bit of adjusting to get smoother chnages but it's a start. So nice to be back driving again after 6 weeks lol. This week will now mostly consist of getting it ready for the Polo Show.

quick pic from today

oh, and if anyone wants to fit my Momo steering wheel at the Polo Show for a few beer's i'd be very grateful :D
