New Car

Featured Replies

Hi i have just bought, an 02 black 1.4 16v sport 9n... Its standard with a couple of dents but nothing major. It needs a good clean wax and polish I may even compond it as there is loads of swirl marks on. I recieved the car at 8pm last night so it was dark but I have seen it many times as its a work mates birds car, hence the dents ;)

I will upload some picture when I go clean it, does anyone know where I can get a fascia from as the stereo in it has a CD/tape player that is the double height one if you know what i mean? I've seen VW Golf fascias that are double height are these the same fitment?

Its also got a 6 disk changer somewhere would this still work if I put my kenwood cd player in?

So I think I paid over the odds for a car with 11months MOT and 3months TAX, with 104k....£900 :-D ;) As above its the 16v sport model which includes,

Lowered 40mm as standard

Disc brakes all round

100bhp 1.4 16v engine

A/C

Central locking

Power steering

Full electrics, windows, mirrors

6 disk changer

So power steering, central locking, electric windows and mirrors might not sound much but when you own a shitty 106 with none of these its an almighty upgrade.

My plans are paint the mirror caps black, refurb the alloys and get low profile tyres on, install my cd player, sub and amp. Find a fog light cover, and as I said before compound it as there are lots of lillte scratches that didn't polish out. Shiney new disc's and new pads, good service in 5months time then its getting looked at every 6months. Hope you like it any comments good or bad are welcome. I know many people are not keen on these but at £900 I couldn't let this slip as there quite rare.

Thanks, yeah I think so too, not sure on which wheels to get though I will do a photoshop on how I want the car to look when I get time, I'm not driving it until the end of this month though, so gives me time to make it my own and add my own personal touches.

fair enough maybe some audi TT comps

Yeah there nice, never really thought of them. Cheers

You can get a slot for below the CD player from the dealers although it might cost a fair bit but at least it would fit properly unlike some of the aftermarket ones. The CD player in the dash will be the CD changer, it should have numbers 1-6 along it. My 9N sport came with a cubby slot and not a CD changer for some reason although the CD changer is supposed to be standard. The CD changer will not work with a different headunit. To be honest i would keep the standard stereo as its not too bad quality and i got an iPod/handsfree kit for my one and it sounds great. You ogt a great baraging there my 9N TDi sport which was the same age but with 65k on it cost me £3900. Oh and if you do get rid of the 6CD changer i might be willing to buy it off you as I've been after one for a while and i could do some king of deal and give you my blanking slot.
