Aching fingers, No nails left.

Spent most of the day removing MK3 bumpstrips, hellish job, knackered heatgun, a bottle of tar and glue remover and half a bottle of T-cut

Worth it though (in my opinion), i know some are a fan but i think they look better without.

Fitting the GT arch trims back on though, just need to modify the fronts and deal with a couple of spots of rust.

Never seen a loon version of these, and for that reason I don't know what it looked like with bumpstrips, but I like it it's a good looking car! :)

Fudge wheels are perfect for this job! :)

Never heard of one of those, does it fit in a drill gun ?, heard of people using a plastic scraper to get the gunge off but i was worried about the paint so used/destroyed my fingernails

Next MK3 i buy i'll make sure it's one with the trims already removed so someone else has had the hassle

RE= VDubber23, yeah, it's a nice little thing, did'nt like it at first but it's grown on me :-), it's relitively rare, the Breadies and Coupes were bigger sellers when it was new, the MK3 Loon was only made for two years (maybe due to low sales ?)

Have plans for it, hopefully it'll be gaining a GT engine, 40mm drop (roads in my town are shite), have a set of 7x13 Atiwes with 195/45/13's to go on, the rest will stay standard.

Looks really clean for it. Just need some clear side reps (dirt cheap on ebay) and the bumpers back on now

Yeah, was going to get clear side flashers but then thought it may look better with smoked ones ?

Front bumper is off as the engine is coming out soon, low mileage but has problems sadly, just bought an MOT failure GT thismorning, motor will come out of that for the Loon.

Rear bumper is off to clean behind it because i'm a tart

I had a mk3 loon a year or 2 ago. Loved that car more than anything else I have had before or since!

If you ever come to sell m8, let us know ;)

polished up well, and looking nice and smooooth.

GT power will be fun.:thumbsup:

Fudge wheel just goes on a drill and is designed for taking off glue from paintwork without damaging it. After all you don't think body shops have time to sit and pick glue off do you!?

There about five quid. Takes about 5 mins a side to get the strips of. Wise investment.
