golf owners

Featured Replies

i was pulling into local tesco' the other day and i scopped out a modified mk3 golf, it was an aniversary on TT comps. so as you do, acknolledge another 'dubber' but he looked at me then my car and just shrugged his shoulders because it was a liitle mk3 polo. i have seen this alot recently. now I'm not scene and i dont care for being different. but i like to be acknolledged. so i thougt he was just ignorant. but then i was in mcd's the otherday and my friends (both drive golfs, one mk3 tdi and the other mk6 tdi) and my friend with the mk6 was telling us how some guy in a polo mk7 drove past looking like he was cool. then my friend said 'yeah my golf cost more' looking down on the polo because it wasnt as expensive as the golf. wasnt just him, the guy with the mk3 agreed with him about the polo being inferioir because its not as big and cost as much.

really annoyed me!!

fucking golf drivers!

i should mention that i have had a golf TDI mk3 and a mk2 jetta and neither werent half as good to drive as my polo!

They think they are better than everyone else. Common knowledge i thought?

i'd fucking love a mk3 golf owner to try and act all superior to me

mk3 golfs are the herpes of the golf world, even golf owners laugh at them lol. they are terrible cars, vw took a fantastic chassis (the mk2 golf) and some how made it handle worse, they then added a lot of weight, made it so ugly that even spastics laugh at it and never once made a performance version of it that was actually any good (don't even try and say the VR6 because they were shit, and yes i have owned one).

i very rarely wave at people these days tho, i've been blanked whey too many times which seems to be a sign of the times. it used to be just people in newer vw's but it seems to be most now although i did get a wave off a lad in a mk3 golf earlier which was a bit of a surprise but he got one back for his effort

1) Mk3 golf's don't get many 'scene' points neither do mk6's..too new. I say ignore the assholes. Some Golf owners are up their own arse whatever you drive.

The thing is, the Golf probably is the better car and the sensible choice. For those of us who follow a less clear cut thought process and have a sense of fun rather than just making ourselves look good to other people, the Polo's a far better choice.

And if you're a total left-brain thinker, you get a Rocco and love every minute.

my sentiments exactly ^

if you like being scene get a golf if however you like vw for their more fun and less serious side you get a polo/rocco/mk1 golf gti (thats not a show car) /or and I'm only guessing at this a raddo

its not all golf drivers but some are so far up their own arse its unbeleivable if i go on edition i never glance at any golfs, i look at everything else but not golfs.

lots of big headed tits with golfs

Polo owners suck ... oh, hang on ... I own a Polo aswell as a Golf

Think I'd take the Late 80's early 90's Audi Coupe over the Rado, better engines and even less scene points.

much as i agree with this, not everyone who modifies a car will wave to some other stranger in the same or similar car mount of times iv been ignored by people in a 6n2 !!!!!

Thats true!

Theres a bloke around my area in a 6n2 GTi.. I've waved, flashed, beeped, all-sorts. And got no reply, other than a few dirty looks

then he appeared on here saying it was him, and that it wasn't meant in the way i took it haha.

Could be innocent.

however, a lot of other VW owners do look down at polos for some reason. Asif we only own them because we cant afford a golf. True for some, but not for others.

tbh this is what i hate about the VW and car community in general.

how are you any better than the three examples of golf owners you gave (out of thousands) if you in turn are tarring them all with the same brush?

there are owners of all cars that are dicks. funnily enough, this is because there is a wide variety of people that own cars, and a high proportion of all people are dicks. so odds are when you wave at someone, they are a dick.

does this mean all golf owners are dicks? no.

does this mean that i think my car is better than yours? no.

i like mk3 golfs.

does this make me a dick? arguably.

point is, the whole VW community needs to chill its beans and accept that lots of people have lots of opinions. if everyone accepted each others opinion then perhaps the golf drivers would be less hostile towards you, and in turn you towards them. or perhaps vice versa?

Another thing that pisses me off, badge snobbery.

There are people on here that genuinely, think the only good cars in the world are VW's  (or atleast thats how they come across)

I'm pretty open minded and appreciate a lot of different cars and scenes etc.

I mean, theres gotta be something up when i genuinely want to buy a lada riva as my next car

i like mk3 golfs.

nope, just means you like a shit car.

I'm so over golfs, its all you see. I had the choice of getting a mk2 golf gti or a mk2 rocco scala. As all i bluddy see is golf owners and think that most can be very arrogant i went for the rocco. Better looking car aswell.

vws (then I'm only upsetting badge snobs) are all well and good but when their owners become far to snotty about what cars and people they associate themselves with (by this i mean thinking their certain model is far higher in the ranks then any other) then they have lost the true meaning of owning and socialising within the vw community and should either take a reality check or sell up as they become no better then stuck up pricks (or should that be become stuck up pricks)

however, a lot of other VW owners do look down at polos for some reason. Asif we only own them because we cant afford a golf.

I only own a golf because I couldn't afford (or find) a decent Mk1 Polo. :tear:

Also, lol at anyone getting all antsy because their car cost a few hundred quid more.

This is bollocks.

I drive a mk1 Golf, and I acknowledge all cars that I think will acknowledge me. The number of times I've waved at and been blanked by mk3/4 Golf/other VW owners is daft! I've had more respect from people driving new fiestas/porsches/ other drivers of other random makes of car, than I've had from VW drivers.

So quit crying like you need to have acknowledgement from some idiot at a local supermarket to feel good about your car. It's nothing to do with what particular VW model they drive.

You mean to say someone you didnt know didn't wave at you, and you got upset? Wow.

I flashed at an mk2 polo the other day that drives the opposite direction to me. We pass most days. He flashed back. It was romantic, but over now I think
