Comments - got the car due to my best friend passing away, so his parents gave me it, pretty happy where its going now, at first i made a bit of a mess of it looking back on it! looking rude now.

pictures :

when i got the car:

painted badges red and back to black the bumpers:

46791_1537876683547_1133764328_31538886_

bought some smoked indicators and got bored and taped the lights up:

155194_1676989321276_1133764328_31815673

also put my sidelights in my indicators:

IMAG0133.jpg

didnt like the look of silver wheels so sprayed the steelies black with help from a friend:

62197_1552696614036_1133764328_31572904_

found the set of arches that were on the car before my friend removed them:

61594_1564802076665_1133764328_31599776_

after that, i thought it was about time it was lowered. so i bought a set of 70mm springs to whack on for now and this is how it turned out:

154378_1676988481255_1133764328_31815669

whilst it was up on the ramps, had a chance to ckeck the car over and suprisingly for a car of its age it was in very good condition! no rust either :D

68134_1676988121246_1133764328_31815667_

anyway this is how it looked just after lowering:

58026_1676988881265_1133764328_31815671_

looked much better in my opinion..

so after that i thought id make my engine look a little nicer as it was looking rather tatty!

sorted the rocker cover out from this:

http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/g361/e...5_6513154_o.jpg

to this:

171350_1756915839389_1133764328_31986963

and then to this:

171663_1757089163722_1133764328_31987246

then cleaned and painted a couple extra bits and now my engine looks like this:

IMAG0072.jpg

so that was the engine done for now, now to give the interior a good clean. it looked pretty damn horrible when i got it, and had stains literally EVERYWHERE, but after a lot of bleach and elbow grease with a friend it ended up looking like this:

IMAG0073.jpg

also note the alpine flip out head unit/tv mounted in the dash, that was for the ps2! 30 quid well spent haha:

201546_1862984011027_1133764328_32164380

also, to fill the hole where the sterio used to be i quickly made a temporary tray out of wood :

192777_1852701513971_1133764328_32152532

then i passed my driving test in january wich was great! such a fun car to drive! apart from the 22mpg iv been getting lol...

since iv bin driving it I've done a couple things too, starting with a maniflow backbox from a mini :

172172_1768369405721_1133764328_32006730

was a right bitch to get it to stay on because it has no mounts and it needed a shim to fit the old pipe! looks great though on the car

also had a melted rear light cluster so bought a new set of lights and got the ones with the small reverse light wich i prefer :D for a grand total of £10 on ebay :D:

191843_1826872148253_1133764328_32111004

you can also see the exhaust in the pic^

since then, the only thing thats been bugging me is the paint. it was a nice colour and all, but the front wing had been repaired, aswell as all of the arches, and so they were a slightly different colour which looked horrible in the light...

i finally got annoyed to the point where i bought some black spray paint and thought fuck it! so i sprayed the car black haha! the pictures are from before i used rubbing compound to get rid of the cloudyness so it looks better now! also got a quad grill!

194202_1852657112861_1133764328_32152500

and a picture with the proper coupe s my friend family still have:

172460_1841927524628_1133764328_32136552

since then all iv done is apply rubbing compound to make the paint look better, and iv bought a new suspension set up wich I'm currently waiting for!

going to have some engine bits done in the future, but thats when i have the money.

will keep updating when i do more bits/take more pictures.

cheers for looking!

boom!

Nice work. Be sure to get some polish on the paint after using the cutting compound. It leaves thenpaint porous and easily stained.

Wheels look nice on it

cheers mate! yeah i still need to get round to laquering it aswell! haha think I'm gonna give it another coat of paint, then rubbing compound/laquer/polish ect! i like the ratty look at the moment though :)

You don't need to laquer it unless it's peeled. Laquering a whole car is a big job!

Nice :)

Did the car come with that chrome bit on the clock surround?

I've got a coupe S one in mine, but it only has the red stripe, not the chrome... looks good :)

How are the bike carbs? :-D

  • Author

cheers, nah i used a paint pen when i was bored one day looool, the red stripe is pinstripe tape so a bit dodgy, gona paint it soon instead.

the carbs are quality awesome acceleration can beat alot of cars off the lights! top end is crap though, 80-90 max atm, think i need air filters!

What's the switch and LED for? I want to put something there in my car but I don't know what.

hey, switch was for my old flip out sterio because it had a constant live and drained the battery, now changed for different one so i use it to turn the sub on instead :)

led is to tell me my fuel pump is on

interior atm, on the lookout for new seats soon

also, the lack of carpet is due to mine being all old and stained, plus the sound proofing was mouldy from the battery tray leaking!

black carpets would be nice even though I'm liking it at the moment!

How hard was it to get the carpet out? Mine could do with coming out for a proper clean.

take the two front seats out wich i beleive is 1 10mm bolt? cant remember, centre console out, after that its pretty straight forward just random screws ect, just give it a tug and see what bits caught on what haha! you may have to make a small cut where it fits around the seat belt mount, unless you take that out too.

glad i did it though, my car dont smell of mould, and i found a quid! winnnnn

Nice, I'll probably just cut the carpet as you say, I tried removing the rear seatbelts before and they weren't for having it.

Only things I found in my car was some random air fresheners, kinda' wish I hadn't thrown them away, they were a bit of character of the car I guess. Also, I like the red stripe on your door cards, I'm totally going to nab that idea.

yeah, alot easier than taking them out, wont notice it anyway.

haha i found loads of mouldy pens ect, and my soundproofing had turned green/blue. looked like my car floor had blue waffle lmao

Looks cool man 8-)

Is the OMP wheel a genuine? If not where'd you acquire it from?
