Stupid cus its a join for the roofskin?

  • Author

really? I've seen it removed before though, hows it done?

was gonna remove it because i snapped one of the trims!

ah well, itl doo untill i find a saloon

Edited by erixtar1992

it can be done, as it is with a mini.

you need to cut little sections out at a time and seam weld it.

With a mini, you brace it too.

I mean i could be wrong... but i see no other reason for them to put a gutter there, they normally hold the roof skin to the rear quarter and whatnot.

  • Author

oh right cheers ill look into it some more. i was literally just gonna grind it off haha

Toby's right. You need to weld as you cut bits off

  • Author

Haha, its the welder thats the problem, I'm usually pretty descent at welding, I'm best at arc though, think ill leave the gutters for now then haha

well, went out for a blast today up the ace cafe, on the way back, lined up with my friends 170-180 bhp rs turbo and my friends 270bhp focus st and had them both off the line LOL got through second gear and then they caught me!hen

BUT then we had another play, and as i launched the wheels span up, but then i hit a bump pand it caught grip, and popped the fucking TCA bush out!

now the car is stuck on an a road with the tca pushed forwards and as its so low it just hits the arch! fuck sake!

how hard are the ball joint on the TCAs to pop off?

Glad I have traction

  • Author

reckon a g clamp is strong enough to pop a bush back in?

Dunno mate! They seem to pop out easily enough!
