yeah, apparently the alternators packed up lol.

the battery drained on it so they put a battery from their mates car in it and it was fine, got down the motorway a bit and now that battery has run out too.

theres nothing i can do though obvs i have no car now ect so i cant take a spare alternator :s

Did it go to a randomer or a mate of a mate etc ??

Least then you know it wont get abused .. too much :(

I didn't crash into the back of my mates Volvo after being towed back home (in the pitch black and rain with no lights or wipers) from London to Essex so I'm being careful with this one.

It's a lovely car and I trust you didn't know there was a problem with the alternator, I'm just glad it's nothing more serious.

I'll keep you informed with her 'progress' if you like mate? I know what it's like to get 'attached' to a car.

I promise, I'll treat her well.

She's getting a new alternator tomorrow and I'm going to get her a filter for the carbs along with new oil and plugs soon.

like i said mate, id actually been driving it around that whole day as i knew it was going so i was stumped! i cant believe it broke! i do have a spare alternator if your interested, but its your call.

Blue one is now mine, driven it about 2 miles so far, it needs some work, need to put my accuspark ignition points in it and i think it has a warped disk.

Old style brakes are AWFUL LOL

That was the silver mk2 eric bought to replace the red one, turned out red one was better so kept that and scrapped/broke the silver one.
