Where to start

Featured Replies

Hello guys, i picked my mk3 project up saturday, got it home jets washed the engine bay and all the underside so i could have a closer and clear look at what i have got to play with. But its all good, i dont no weather to pull the engine out and strip that and bike carb it and put a bigger cam in it (can anyone give me advice on doing that? Links?) or start by slamming it or evan start stripping it out inside (only the back) i dont know lol. Can anyone send me some pics of there mk3 polo's and any advice on where to start? Cheers

That looks good mate, am defo going to strip it out. And its a 1.3 but i wanted to bike carb it and put a gt cam in it, but its my first time in doing owt like this (putting bike carbs on and bigger cam) so am not all that sure on what am doing. I guess its practice and trial and error that makes it work. Cheers mate

I think you need to sit down and work out what you what from this car first mate, its absolutely pointless starting a project if you don't have an idea of where you want it to end up, you'll just end up wasting money going in one direction before changing your mind and going in another.

Your best bet is to take a look at the mk3 project and build thread section to get an idea of the different routes people take their cars and maybe get some idea of where you want your car to end up. Asking people to post up what they have to their cars when there's a whole section dedicated to it is at best bit lazy tbh
