My brakes are pretty much at the end of their life by the feel on of it, the back ones more than anything which are hubs and shoes. what would be the best ones to get shall i just try ebay?

also seeing as I'm replacing the rears anyone know what discs and shoes i could put on the front as I'm sick of brake dust :(

I replaced the rears on mine with new items from GSF drums £9 bearings £10 and shoes £5 from ebay.

The brake dust just means the pads are doing their job properly, you used to be able to buy dust shields that fitted between the the hub and the wheel and rubber skirt stopped the dust getting onto the outside of the wheel, but I've not seen them advertised since the mid 80's !!
