Featured Replies

as above i live in hull and seriously detest the place, literally nothing to do nowhere to go. everywhere u look there is a chav on a granny shopper a local smak head asking for change, dog shit and smashed bottles all over! feel guilty that my kids have got to be brought up here! luckily i work away a lot and get to see some lovely places away from local chavved up shit boxes! if only the missus would move from there even to the outskirts of it just not in it! oh and the council are wankers!

Lived in a few places,

Carmarthen - not too bad, came back to live here, Dislike: Only Jobs are Retail, NHS or Council.

Bangor - Went to Uni there, only dislike: fooking great big hill to go up from town to uni.

Hutton Buscel, nr Scarborough - Slight Village of the dammed feeling about the place, spent 4 months there, nice peaceful village, only real major complaint: the local pub was 2 miles down the road and 8miles back.

Thwing, nr Scarborough - Again with work, 4 months in a tent, nice inviting village, Good Ale pub, Dislike: Good Ale pub Hangovers, while working in the pouring rain.

Isle of Skye/Isle of Iona/Outer Hebrides/Shetlands - Work, 9 months, going from site to site on the islands, ended up living in Twatt (Shetland) for 2 months

Had to drop down to Hull a few times when in was living in Thwing to pick up another member of staff, found it pretty grim tbh, every car seemed to be fitted with a jap can.

In my third place of living (own house now) but not really gone far from B'ham, where I live isn't the best but its good for work, getting to Wolves and Brum, getting to shows (most are within an hour or so), plenty of local meets and got some nice countryside not too far away!

Lived in Oxford all up until the age of 19 when I moved to Bristol for uni, didn't realise how much I liked it until I moved to Bristol!

Post uni and I now live and work in Bristol, same area as I lived as a student too. Nothing against Bristol, it's an awesome place but being a student had a load of bloody good memories and sentiment that I won't get again now I live in the real world!

One day i'd like to move back to Oxford, i'd consider a commute to work if I had to...

macclesfield, cheshire. Bit boring to be fiar.

stockport and manchester get pritty grim................. wythenshawe,

I've just moved house. From garforth to Otley.

Best move over, just google garforth, it's a shittip, where as Otley...

otley-view-from-chevin.jpg

i have lived in north wales since i was ten moved from northampton. bit of a difference, apart from being boring as shit it alright I'm gettin older now so seems to get better with age. heres the view from my housepost-30431-1302168837_thumb.jpg

Live in Trafford, Manchester.

I complain but when ever away in Wales visiting family i realise that i have it quite good, 24hr Asda close by, Trafford Centre for shopping comfortably when it's chucking it down, Old Trafford just up the road (yes, I'm a red) and now the rather large Media City where the BBC and ITV are moving too which should bring more interest and investment up north away from London.

You missed out the epic road rallying around you :D

i live a few miles from brighton in shoreham-by-sea and its quite nice down south i live in probably the crappest part of town and the only issues is occasionally loud music and weed smokers. for a small town it has no fewer than 18 pubs (not including licensed restaurants) within 3.8 sq miles and there is only a population of 17000 its close enough to brighton and worthing so there is always something to do and there is plenty of local history too.

I'm sat out in me garden on me laptop with a ice cold beer drinking in the sun, glorious day.

I live in a town called Willenhall. It's pretty shit, although the street I live in isn't bad.

We're between Walsall (voted one of the worst towns in England) and Wolverhampton (one of the highest unemployment rates in the UK).

And all of that is in the Midlands, one of the worst county's in the country.

So yeah, I hate it, hence why the uni I'm going to in September is 4 and a half hours away.

I live In a tiny village outside Norwich and it's lovely, and Norwich is a brilliant city!

I now live in Bradford for uni and i actually like the place, i know there is a very high percentage of mainly asian guys who seem to be complete pricks but only between themselves, i get no trouble and i have a brilliant group of mates :)

I live in Solihull near Birmingham. Quite like Solihull centre, especially during the week when there aren't any little shits knocking about. Have to head over to Birmingham twice a week for uni, bit of a shit hole to be honest, but luckily I don't really have to spend too much time there.

Really.......you like it here?

I lived in North Yorkshire, Stainforth when i had the pub up there and amazing! Now I'm back in Bradford and i more than detest the place!

It stinks, I've had more trouble on the road than i can mention and I've only been driving 7 months and always (and i actually mean every time) with either an asian bloke, a polish bloke or some woman in a burka who cant see out of it nearly veering me into a wall!

Theres some lovely buildings or rather were, every shop is either a take-a-way a taxi rank or something i cannot read.

You spend too much of your time avoiding idiot asian teenagers in brand new top of the range auids, mercs or bmw's flying around with no regards to road safety or been spat on or picked out and beat on on the streets because i was around mostly asian areas and happend to be a white kid.

I'm pretty much certain i couldn't have grown up more in fear of been beat down for been a white kid anywhere else!

Moved to a nicer end and it can be okay in small doses but id never recommend anyone live here.

Phew rant over....

(sorry the moron in his brand new Audi who nearly took out my front end on the way home from work didnt help calm me!)

I used to live in shitty small houses. Houses that were slightly better than most of my mates ( Eg, my mum owned as opposed to the council/housing associations), but still in the same area. I could walk about and see familiar faces, could go for a smoke and encounter old chums etc. Recently weve moved into a 'better' area. Where everyones white, where everyones neighbourly, where everyones a nosey idiot, where everyone parks on the pavement blocking my way, where everyone looks at me like I'm going to burgle them and there offsprings arses. My quality of life has gone down, as the rent i pay no lnoger gets spent on food or bills, but fucking pointless additions to the house like a toilet seat you cant slam and sliding doors for rooms that are never used. I've never felt more out of place or awkward in my life. Its tedious. Its the type of place id never pick to live. At the risk of sounding ungrateful, i much preferred living in shitholes surrounded by similar dickheads to myself.

Could not have put it better myself, g/f has to drive to bradford from huddersfield and she hates it, exactly same as what you say in regards to driving

She has been shunted off the road and left for dead (as such) once and had numerous near misses

Bradford used to be on par with Leeds for its size and growth but the last 20 years has seen it slump to what can only be described as a dump now

A city which had such an identity and now it has nothing, i avoid it at all costs!

I'm in south birmingham, and dont like it..

wasnt so bad growing up here, but things have changed alot since then, and its now a 100% shithole imo

I live in England. It's shit, end of.

second that, this country is a joke tbh, it annoys me so much.

my sisters just spent a year in australia, and shes gonna move there, id like to do the same, much better quality of life there!

Bradford really isn't as bad as people say in my opinion, I've been her 7 months and not had one bit of trouble!

but i totally agree about the ridiculously young asian guys in the brand new merc, bmws, etc. i just keep to the speed limit, keep my eyes peeled and its fine.....

have to say i agree with yeti, this country has got to be one of the most laughed at places in the world

 True, missed the Gwendraeth rally last weekend, ended up replacing the gearbox on a 6n.

every time I've been to bradford, bearing in mind i live in spitting distance, something has happened, the people there just dont give a shit about anything, the amount of people that just walk out into the road without looking is unreal!

once, after picking up some wobble bolts from an alloy shop not 15 minutes away, we were nearly crashed into 3 times, all by massive cars, Lexus, BMW and an Audi.

going to pick some carpets up from a chap on here, again, a lexus, just pulls out without looking, didnt even stop at the junction.

it all needs to be nuked, remove some idiocy from the gene pool.

7 months! Try the best part of 23 years!!!!

Sure it has some lovely areas and some parts are scenic but some of what used to be the nicest and 'luxurious' areas are now dumps, look at Manningham!

My last incident i flashed a guy who ran a red and nearly took me out so he carried on trying to ram me off into a bus lane down manchester road! its like a 2 foot curb id have been totalled!

I saw a woman take a corner on the wrong side of the road while fixing her head gear and actually turn all the way back onto her side of the road then the curb then rip the bumper off on the wall! Incidents like this happen every day! Every trip i take i end up in a furry over idiots on the road!

Was in the news a few days back, a car (which I've had runnings before) flew out of a corner taking some poor bloke out! I happened to come past and it wernt pretty everyone in tears apart from the the 3 youths that had hit him who were on the phone laughing!

Any way ill stop now before this becomes a 'Avoid Bradford at all costs' thread. Anyone who actually lives and drives in these parts knows how infuriating it can get just discussing what goes on and what little we can do to stop it! :x :-X :x :-X :-(:?:x

Quick edit..... The insurance in Bradford is also a joke! In fact near enough one of the worst in the country! I had insurance cancelled when i was a learner due to my post code! Says something about the place!
