Cosmic Green Valver - Update! clean bits!

Featured Replies

Bit of background - bought it off polo_phil off here in november 09, brilliant car couldnt have loved it any more! did a service on it in around january '10 and said to the garage can you do the cambelt? yes yes yes thats fine! june'10 'SNAP' bye bye cambelt, bye bye engine! so found a replacement, put that in myself then about 2 moths later the pistonrings went!  so i lost heart with it didnt no what to do so i got another valver in black from milton keynes! (i live in cumbria) and to be honest i bought a bag of shit i knew it when i saw it but i thought i cant walk away with nothing! I've come this far! But now with all the problems I've had i thought i would look to the green one once again as when it was on the road it was brilliant i loved it

and thats were we get to now!

that was how it was left from last time the interior was foobard mold and all that a fair bit of rust spots had appeared but were it mattered pretty solid i would say so we got to work straight away!

but things we plan on doing are:-

take all panels off and give it a good clean make sure theres no rot

sort the engine situation out

choose wheels

wether or not to get it resprayed (bits of rust and a key mark  )

and many more

quite a bit more done now just havnt had chance to update!

stripped the interior out i thing the standard interior will be going back in for now but yeah got a bit of a twist to it but ill wait to see what happends with that!

when we stripped the engine a mate asked me if i would wants some parts of the engine powdercoating so i thought why not he chose the colour and it was like a burple sort of colour and with green i didnt think it would go but it was free and just to tidy it up a bit so we will see like!

back to the interior i tryed a few different things but this was my favourite and there is a black swade rooflining to pair with them, as i thought if i did the pillars black with the roof and interior being the same it would be really dark so this is just to break it up a bit, its a marmite mod!

ye so next out was the subframe with wishbones, anti-roll bar and steering rack but split it all down the subframe went down to my mates for powdercoat in blue.

as we were down there we took the engine down for a re-build and within hours the guy had rang me saying i needed to drop back in to my amazment we found this!

considering that there was smoke coming out the breather filter with no knocking noise in the engine itself! :?

so thats were we are so far i think got an engine i think we are picking it up next week along with the subframe from my mates and new wishbones and bushes :-)

all comments welcome as ever it not negative it constructive critisism! lol

then got it in with steering rack mounted on

also got the bonnet stays done thought this blue wouldnt look right on green but i think its not to bad now like

then the task of finding all the interior and nuts and bolts to put it back together began!

so sticking with the pillars that i showed earlier this is what the end product was like
