Parking Fine! Cough up or stick to my gut with what others are saying.

Featured Replies

Ok, I'll keep this brief.

On Wednesday 6th April I received a parking fine from a company called ParkForce who have issued me with a ticket for £60. I don't want any sympathy I just want some advice from others to what to do.

As I had never had a parking fine from a private firm before I was interested to see what there all about. So I went on google types "park force parking ticket" and to my amazement there are lots of people on various different forums saying about parking fines they had also received from the same company I got mine from "Park Force" and were saying just too ignore it and anything else that may come through the letter box to you.

Here is a thread that makes me certain that If I just ignore it they'll get fed up and eventually will stop pestering me!

Hope someone can shed some light on this!

Thanks in advance.

seems like just ignoring them works fine, fuck em

I might be wrong but on watchdog I did see a company like the one you said that go round aNf do private parking tickets and con you! Don't quote me in it but it could be the sames company??

as mclovin said fuck em! nowt but money grabbing wankers! seriously what they guna do?

Ignore them.

It's only the council parking tickets you have to pay attention too.

3rd party parking tickets such as the one you received don't count for much. The companies who issue them don't really have the jurisdiction to make you pay. It's something along the lines of they need really accurate and timed photographic/video evidence of you driving the car into the car park/space and then driving out of your space/car park. They also need to prove it was you driving, prove it's your car, prove that you were parked in the car park for the allocated time (i.e. not parked, left and came back). Pretty much what they need to prove to actually take you to court they won't have as evidence, and even if they did take you to court the chances of them winning are slim to non.

These companies thrive on the honesty of society and prey on the people who just 'pay up, no questions asked'.. Make them work for their money if they are going to get it off you.

Writing letters/phone call for complaints or appeals won't do anything, you'll just get ignored and they'll just send the standard automated responses so it's just a waste of time. I would recommend ignoring them as they'll eventually give up when the cost of chasing you out weighs what they'll gain back in fines.

If you're really that bothered do a little research into what they need to actually take you to court and then ask for the evidence. The 'freedom of information act 2000' which states that on your demand a company must provide EVERYTHING they know about you or they can face criminal charges. When they reply if they don't have sufficient evidence let them know that you know and tell them to 'cease and assist' contacting you or you will press charges under the 'Protection from Harassment Act 1997' which they can once again receive criminal charges. Play these fuckers at their own game. Turn a fine against you into a fine against them plus compensation for yourself for the hassle caused. That's Bi-Winning.

You used to be a parking warden? Or at least worked for a parking ticket company? You sir are a nice person.

Just read through your thread DKnight and looks like you won! (Y).

I'm not going to bother contacting them and will ignore anything that is put through the post to me.

  • 2 weeks later...

just ignore it, I had a £95 one,also from a private firm,went online,googled it and came across

http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/p...parking-tickets

I followed their advice to just ignore it,they will send you letters about baylifs n that but they will stop bothering you, this was 3 years ago,so am pretty sure about this :)

Moved to paperwork.

I must easily have a dozen tickets from private companies in the van. Literally, just ignore them and everything they send.

tbh they always give up in the end i got one when i went to de a swap on a car because we stayed on the motorway services for 2 hours and 15 mins and it was free for 2 hours they wanted £85 off me i read up on it got another letter demanding £120 then a letter with an anpr picture (this was funny as i drove it in and the new owner drove it out lol) binned all of them and they give up in the end , i thought it was on watchdog and they were stopping all these bogus car parking companys and makeing it ilegal ,

tbh id ignore anything thats not off the councel myself i got a £25 fine off the councel once because id parked my redtop corsa over the white line in a car park to avoid doors getting slammed into it felt sick paying it it was only there 10 mins while i got a haircut most expence hair cut I've ever had though haha
