Polo 1.6 GLX Black 5dr Open air

Featured Replies

After 3 years of ownership the car has to go :(

Its a 1.6 8v, GLX, 100k on the clock, will have 12 months MOT, and Tax till September.

Car has been serviced by VW up until 70something thousand miles, then independently.

Leccy windows, central locking, electric open air sunroof, power steering.

At 86k the timing belt tensioner broke, taking the valves and everything else in the head with it. The car recieved a full head rebuild, although I think the valve stem seals need redoing as it does use oil on start up.

The gearbox was rebuilt at 92k, with all the crappy plastic rivets replaced with stronger metal ones, the clutch was replaced at the same time.

Modifications:

TA Technix coilys, 5 month old cat-back Longlife Exhaust system, 6n2 GTI front splitter, 8k HID's, Smoked front lights and indicators, Full seat ibiza cupra half leather interior, De-wipered at the rear, black badges front and rear, black headlining.

Wheels: Rays Cal Choppys 16 x 7's with 2 month old Nankang 165/40/16's, 20mm and 25mm spacers front and rear.

Bad points: Obviously the valve stem seals, scratches here and there for a car this age, a minor dent on passenger front wing and 5p sized dink on drivers rear door. Open air works fully and perfectly, although it has 2cm tears at the rear fold. I've silicone'd these up.

The car was detailed last June and the paintwork came up beautifully, the coilys dont have helper springs but I still have them so you can fit them if you want. The car is virtually RUST FREE, none on the arches or sills, the previous owner wax-oyl'd the underside of the car so its perfect!
