As the title suggests, thought id find out what other people do and if they enjoy what it is there doing.

As for me I've been working since i was 15 and full time as soon as i left school.

Started waiting tables then jumped to bar work and just conference and banqueting. Must say i really enjoyed the laughs and constant interaction with humans all day, this then progressed to me and my father getting our own pub up in north Yorkshire which was brilliant! People where great and i may have been doing 60+ hours a week for pence i had a laugh and more beer than i could cope with =D Anyways due to some dick of a tenancy holder we ended up leaving after just a year (very long story and court proceedings!)

So had to move back to Bradford I did some temp work for tango for advertising but it was not permanent but loved that for the week or so!

Fell into an IT support job as i had a mate working here. I have IT knowledge from having little do in-between working, going out and sleeping growing up so spent too many hours in front of a screen.

Now it started with just 'Call logging' taking calls from users recording what they say and putting it into a queuing system for the user to get a call back from a 'Tech' well after day one i decided to fly solo and log calls without my trainer, after the first week id picked up the majority of the 'Tech' fixes that were used. The idea was to work at logging and then eventually get trained by a tech, thing was the boss would not put me for training as he said "You seem competent enough, ill put the less technical people through training first" well yea great compliment but ended up sat for like 6 months doing dog work and having my colleagues actually complaining when i was doing technical work as i 'was not trained' any who.... I've been here about 3 years now and i did finally get off of taking calls and just doing tech work which made the job alright and I'm good at it. Have not really learnt anything new in the last 2 years apart from bits around virtual environments. Either way, i now really dislike my job, we had some staff members leave and in their place we got 'at risk' staff from around the building working here and some new employees and the newest has been her 6 months and cannot do the job at all! the other new members are pretty much retarded as well.

Everyone is back on taking calls on a weekly basis to make it 'fair' apparently putting the people who are retarded purely on logging calls is un fair to them!

With it been the NHS we have just had cuts all over so are still understaffed and i think half the office (the ones who have been here for a few years and are competent in the job) are all just off with stress from dealing with picking up the mess and slack from the spanners!!

so thats my small rant, i should be using this time to look for new jobs but hey ho it aint an easy task, I've been working from 15 (now 23) but obv never did colleague or uni so writing a CV is a bit hard when theres a huge gap at the 'Qualification' section. Trying to do my Microsoft and Cisco certification courses but my wage no where covers enough to get them done, feels like a vicious circle of been stuck here forever =(

i went to college after i left school, did a Media Production course, i specialised in Publishing as it was the closest thing to Graphic Design (Which i decided i wanted to do half way through the course)

Then applied for university and ended up leaving after about 4/5 months as it wasn't the right course, too much paper based design where as i'm into digital design, i work for dominos delivering whilst at college and the start of uni and i left that due to them messing me around and just ruining my car with miles etc.

All i do now is work 1/2 nights a week at a nightclub getting £6.50 an hour, but just can't seem to find a job, especially being 'alternative' with long hair and piercings etc. But i do enjoy it, just not enough of it!

Hmmm, i'm not sure what to do, just need moneyyy atm!

My lifes pretty good atm lol...

Drifted in and out of jobs after getting a letter saying I shouldnt return to school after the academic year, worked in 3 pubs at once just to fund my expensive lifestyle (Dubs & drugs) Oh the life of a 17 year old! Didnt know what i wanted to do then got a job at an accountancy business for a couple of hours a week, didnt enjoy it but the money was awesome.

Finally gave up the pub work last year and i now work full time at the same Accountancy firm whilst gaining more qualifications at college one day a week, literally just went self employed aswell as being Employed full time, just passed my fourth exam yesterday morning, and then got a phonecall from finders keepers telling me me and the Mrs have got the house! (Move in 9th June)

Can finally afford to get myself a set of splits and a respray! (down the line a while ofcourse) but in general things are going pretty well, haven't had the best of luck in the past so I'm waiting for something to go wrong lol! Gave the Rockstar lifestyle up not long ago and finally joined a gym (as I'm a weedy little bastard) I'm a Chelsea fan and I'm not upset about the football, I laughed!

Bring on 2012 tbh.

See I've had a pretty cool career so far =D

started working at 14 in a shop and worked there till i was 17 and ended up as a section manager with 3 staff beneath me (one being my mum) which was pretty cool.

I then joined the RAF and served all over the south of the country as a telecomms operator with opportunitys to work with the best and highest of the RAF, i remember september 11th working with American soldiers.

I've worked admin jobs and shop jobs aswell as a stint in the Army and applications with the Police force, so as you can guess I'm a very straight laced person lol

I used to just work to get through life, as i was playing in a band in london and managed to rack up debts of 15000 =O. Now I'm 29 and a lot more grown up (drived a modified polo lol) and i run my own martial arts academy. I dont particularily enjoy the business side of things but i only work 3 hours a day for a very substantial amount of money =D plus being a 2nd degree black belt, i love what i do so am hoping to make this work =D

I've spent time in the dole line and didnt enjoy that so this is it for me hopefully!!

i started work from school as a drivers mate delivering caravans, i'm 27 now and still in the same line of work although now i drive the trucks. i like the job when it envolves a challenge, i.e small farm jobs with narrow lanes carrying a huge caravan on the back in the middle of nowhere, i hate the day runs and prefer being away all week tbh! hull has the biggest production of these pikey sheds in the uk and i work for the longest established caravan haulage firm in hull, i work with my old man and we share driving so its not too bad but my god are the wages shite! he retires from hgv driving in two years so who knows i might stay, he's the longest serving caravan haulage driver in the business and id like to beat his record. The best part of the job is seeing the sights and the places iv been to are amazing on the down side you don't get much of a social life. heres a pic for reference.

I work in a garage 3-5 days a week for a pittance. I'm not learning anything anymore so I'm increasingly fobbing it off for overtime at my other job. i work in the hell known as primark on weekends, and other days if i need money (which is frequently). In the midst of all this I'm still attending college doing an electrical and electronic engineering btec, but they're trying to get rid of me due to my inability to attend. i can noramlly get there onceo r twice a week for an hour or so. all work, little play. I'm working hard and amassing funds but i dont know why when i know theres easier money to be had.

Nice to see not everyone is as happy as larry =P

I'm considering hitting the gym at last to keep me motivated as this is the only job where I've sat down all day and its fair to say from been slim and healthy I'm getting 'cuddly' and a bit lethargic! Id love to take up martial arts again as i did as a youngster but its all money!

If i can get back into a healthy state and get a green light from my docs i shall no doubt be fobbing this place off and joining the RAF to do It related things there as i need something that might wake me up and not just sat here been able to do my work and giving me all day to forum or play on my phone! Life should be full of challenges not lethargic and boring!!

Did all sorts of stuff when I was younger, but for the last 5 years or so I've mainly been an agency merchanidser,taking shops apart, putting them back together. I work all over the country so see the sights (just had 3 days on the south coast :-) ). It can be the shittest job in the world, but at the minute I'm working by myself to my own schedule, and I'm loving it.

I was doing some trade plate driving at the start of this year, which was probably the best job in the world (only real downside was there was some long arsed days involved, like get up at 4, not get home til gone 9 some days). Kinda decided to take a break from that when I got speed camera'd though.

There's a lad on my college course that's in pretty much the same boat as you dude, but with Engineering instead of Media/Design..

UCAS Extra is open now so you might be able to jump onto a course for this year before fees go up if you're lucky..

Well I left school 4 years ago certain I wanted to be a mechanic, so I went to college on a course (which was awful, we had two cars in the workshop and they didn't run and were in pieces from all the pikeys on the course) but then to my relief I got offered an apprenticeship at Volvo in Derby.

After working there for six months I could not do it anymore as I was getting payed £2.35 an hour and was not learning a things as non of the technicians had time for me (of cause it wasn't a real garage, nothing got fixed just service it delete the faults and get it out!)

So one day I walked out stupidly not having a job lined up, out of work for around 6months then got a job as a Stockroom asst' at NEXT in Derby worked there for about a year, it was f**king awful and got forced out due to ridiculous contract changes so then I was out of work for over a year, which was spent on the dole.

Then 6 months ago I got a job as a kitchen porter in a local 4 star hotel which has really good opportunities for climbing the ladder but at the same time it does kind of suck ass washing pots and cleaning kitchens till 11.30 five nights a week. This threads got me thinking now.

Its always good to vent about it, i write it out and tend to realise more i dont want to be here and in fact should be writing about how I'm enjoying what at do. I mean we do spend most of our waking lives working! We should enjoy it!

Currently doing a retail job, bouncing between warehouse and working on frozen, those who know me know who i work for!, but got a new job doing warehouse for Euro car parts starting on 3rd may :-D

i'm a aircraft technician on biz jets. Fucking love it!

Not a lot I can really write here yet, but anyway, currently on a Computer Engineering course at Uni and in the middle of a placement year making cockpit display units for military helicopters. Sadly I'm not actually making anything at the moment, just fiddling with massive tedious technical documents. Spent some time between college and uni working on the Isle of Wight car ferries and discovered how dense the general public can really be :)

Left school went to college studied Fine Arts for 2 yrs ,recruited to a local graphic company left after 2 yrs there left to work in London in the same occupation designing record album covers then company went bust after a yr so went back to college for a further 3 yrs .

For a few yrs after i left college i was a manager for a number of retail outlets got bored and changed direction and ran my own landscaping company which ended up me becoming a groundsman for a private school and outdoor schools co ordinator and there you go .

i'm a aircraft technician on biz jets. Fucking love it!

After leaving college I worked in a call centre for a year, absolute shite so packed that in; had some time off over the summer,

then applied through a friend to work as a junior graphic designer at the firm I'm currently at. Worked there for a year then dropped to

two days a week in order to do university. So I'm not studying graphic designer full time at Birmingham Institute of Art & Design,

whilst getting two days a week work in.

They've asked me to drop uni and come back full time as a graphic designer but I've said no. I'm loving uni at the moment and

would much rather finish the course then work for a creative agency, rather than a design based IT firm.

Left school at 16, worked for Leeds city council in one place for nearly 2 years, leave there for a better job and then get sacked after a week.

Doled it for nearly a year now.

Joined a college course last year in electrical installation, and will be staring a new job next Friday selling solar panels.

I work for a Scottish based motor factor who also are HGV/PSV factors.

I work on the commercial side of the buisness,relining HGV and PSV brakes...

Downside is it's a really dirty job...

Upside is i get all my car parts at cost price...

I've had quite a few jobs:-

Trainee Pharmacist - gave up after a while

Went to College for 2 years to get a HND in Graphice Design

Worked at a commercial printers for 9 months

Worked for an outdoor specialisy shop designing their website and getting their online shop sorted. Ran that for 3 years then got laid off

Got a basic job working in Waterstone's bookshop - worked through the ranks - took 5 years worked as a temp manager for 6 months - left for the next job

Worked in Halfords as a stereo fitter for 2 & a half years - got threatened with redundancy so looked for a new job

Now work for Aviva selling House & travel insurnace for HSBC & First Direct!

Plus i've been running Dubstyle on and off for over 10 years now! :)

In a nutshell, while in school discovered the interwebs, loved it, went to college to study Multimedia and Design and now I'm lead web developer on a marketing team at 23.
